2nd 4/26 chase post: repositioned northeast of Treynor & got up a hill to get a vantage point of an ongoing tornado to the west. The storm cycled and dropped a new tornado that would go on to Minden & beyond
Didn’t think much of it in the moment but I was sitting on my couch (Grinnell) in the last 25 mins & heard what I thought was a nearby crash of lightning, but there haven’t been any storms in Poweshiek Co. in almost an hour. Bolt from the blue?? @NWSDesMoines #iawx #wxtwitter

The lunar eclipse as I followed it over the Roseman Covered Bridge in Madison County. The individual shots where taken with my 600mm lens and I composited them along the general path the moon would take. When the eclipse was at its peak it was directly over the bridge.
I know some don't like composite photos and thats ok. Art can be done in many ways each according to the artists tastes. The way this turned out was beyond my expectations.

The Appleton – Menasha, Wisconsin tornado from today (July 27) appears to have produced a meteotsunami! This phenomenon can occur when a strong tornado or severe thunderstorm rapidly displaces water on a lake or other body of water, creating a localized tsunami-like wave. A similar event was documented with the powerful EF3 tornado that struck Canton Lake, Oklahoma, on May 24, 2011.
