How about this 🤔
Border control and immigration policy are National Government responsibilities. A municipality and/or Ward Councillor does not have any power to control our borders nor order deportations. The people of South Africa will soon discover that political parties which campaigned on those promises in the Local Government Elections promised powers that municipalities do not possess. All these dishonest parties simply played with the emotions and vulnerabilities of our people. Voting is done now. The question you must ask the party you voted for is; will they close the border? The answer is NO!

Your Minister of Human Settlement, struggle hero Comrade Thembi Simelane* has axed the board of directors of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) for their refusal to appoint her imposed candidate, one Comrade Kedibone Phetla as an interim chief ombud of the CSOS. Comrade Kedibone allegedly has a chequered past: she faces allegations of ignoring internal advice & signing an unbudgeted R50 million ICT tender which plunged the entity into financial difficulty (in her previous stint as acting CSOS ombud in 2024). Other questionable contracts she concluded during her tenure are also under scrutiny. The Board is however pushing back on Comrade Thembisile, citing procedural irregularities in their sacking, political overreach & interference. *You will remember Comrade Thembisile Simelane from her R575 000 VBS Bank gratuity which was disguised as a loan (she got the alleged kickback after “investing” R349 million of the doomed Polokwane Municipality’s cash in VBS). In Dec 2024, President Cyril Ramaphosa quietly moved her from the Justice & Constitutional Development Department to the Human Settlement portfolio after she successfully convinced him that she was no longer a thug & a looter. Or whatever.

It should not just be the ANC top brass mulling an exit; if we are to be honest, the EFF too.

Illegal foreigners are not only flooding South Africa because it is easy for them to get in. They do it because once they are in their lives are comfortable, they are able to get jobs and start businesses (including illegal ones), access health care and education for their children and return to their home countries to visit as they please, all without consequence. If you take away some of the things that make living in South Africa illegally so lucrative, like their ability to run businesses in communities while being in the country illegally, then you take away an incentive for them to flood this country in their numbers. Logical people know that a lot can be done at municipal level to discourage illegal foreigners from flooding our country in large quantities!

“Our people” just filed for divorce. Every election season, a familiar chorus starts up. Parties on every side of the spectrum step to the mic and declare, with impressive confidence, that their people will deliver the victory. Black people. White people. Coloured people. Indian people. Religious People. Rural people. Kasi people. The list is long, the ownership claimed is absolute, and the maths is always assumed to be settled. Then the results come in. This week’s local government elections delivered the clearest reminder yet that voters are not a fixed asset on anyone’s balance sheet. Long standing majorities cracked. Dozens of councils are hung. “Our people” looked at the sewage in the streets, the lights that never stay on, the water that sometimes arrives, the clinics that run out of basics, and decided the loyalty programme had expired. The reaction from some quarters has been a mix of surprise and mild betrayal. As if the electorate had somehow breached the terms of an unwritten contract. As if identity was a binding agreement and service delivery was merely a nice to have. Here’s the less poetic truth: people do not belong to political parties. They belong to their own lives. They want water that comes out of the tap, electricity that stays on, roads that do not eat their tyres, and refuse that is actually collected. Race, history and rhetoric may open the door. They do not keep the lights on. When the basics fail consistently, the label “our people” becomes a historical footnote rather than a political fact. Some of us have spent enough time turning around organisations to know that ownership without delivery is just a story you tell yourself. Customers, employees, citizens - none of them stay because you claimed them. They stay because the system works better with you than without you. The moment it stops working, they exercise the only real power they have: they leave. South Africans just did exactly that, in large numbers, across the country. The parties that still want to talk about “our people” might want to spend less time counting them and more time serving them.

It is sick how "a white president" is pronounced like a curse or a horror, when the presidency is just an office to serve a nation. The irony is that sub-Saharan Africa functioned well and peaked under white presidencies. If you are a logical person, you discuss political discourse with merit, capability, and ideas for leadership service, not black versus white trash racism. If a white politician has better ideas and the ability, they have to simply rise to the duty. It is not a fault. It is not criminal. It is not bad. A president is not chosen to match your skin, he is chosen to fix your life. To fix roads, hospitals, jobs, water, and food. If a black man cannot do it and a white man can, choose the man who can do it. We have suffered enough under leaders who look like us but loot us. Similarity is not competence. Blackness is not a qualification. Whiteness is not a disqualification. Africa does not need a president who looks right. Africa needs a president who does right.
They need to swallow their egos and start delivering services, otherwise South Africa will have a white president by 2034. People do not eat history. They do not drink struggle songs, and they cannot drive on liberation credentials. They want water in their taps, lights in their homes, clinics with medicine and roads without potholes. The voters have already sent a clear warning. A party that keeps ignoring that warning should not be surprised when the people stop knocking and simply hand the keys to someone else.

Plundering state resources is a choice but never a mistake. It's a deliberate choice to enrich yourself at the expense of the poor citizens.

You have some very arrogant female leaders with no leadership quality in them Kubayi Nonceba Stella Khumbudzo Nomagugu Who else did I miss...? And they all have corroption allegations hanging above their heads on top of their arrogance #LGE2026 #Elections2026
MBALULA: The people of South Africa have spoken. As the ANC we have heard that my people. We recognise that many South Africans who once placed their confidence in the ANC have chosen to support other parties. Others have withdrawn from electoral participation altogether. We recognise their concerns, we will not question their judgement or explain away their decisions. We will confront the reasons why people who once regarded the ANC as their natural political home have become disillusioned with our movement.

There was a recount in W33 (Soshanguve A, B, F, G, M). The recount sees the ANC pick up another ward as Action SA just loses out. The ANC ward councillor will be delighted. However, this means that Eugene Modise, the MMC for Finance loses his seat, the one and only ANC PR seat.

Remember the individual who tried to get into a screaming match with Helen Zille over a foreign policy matter a couple of months ago ? Turns out he stood as the SACP Ward Cllr candidate in Ward 118, JHB. He received 25 votes. The DA won the ward overwhelmingly 🔵🔵
