Giving away Misa would be such a panic trade when adjusting the coaching philosophy is the much more obvious and less organizationally damaging next step for the Sharks.
David Pagnotta: Re Simon Edvinsson: What I do know is it would take more, from Detroit's perspective, than just Michael Misa, to part with Edvinsson; that seems to be the situation right now - DFO Insider (11/4) ____ NHLRR: Pagnotta noted that it was still unclear if San Jose actually offered Misa or Detroit just asked for him

Next season, or even later this year, Sherwood should wear an A. He is a leader on the ice and is always accountable in the media. Sherwood is such a valuable piece for the Sharks.
Sherwood says the team just did a players only meeting following the game. #SJSharks

Ah, the players only meeting. The telltale sign across every sport that your coach has lost the room.
Celebrini said the players-only meeting message stays in the room. Disputed that #SJSharks are emotionally fragile right now: ā€œWe’re frustrated. We're not happy with the way we're playing. We need to move forward. You can't really dwell on it.ā€

The Sharks can still salvage their season. It’s become apparent they need a new voice in that locker room.
Since 10/27 the Sharks have only outscored their opponent in 1 period of the past 14

It’s time for the Sharks to find a new coach. Preferably one who has been around the block a few times. One that knows to play to the strengths of your roster rather than forcing a contrasting style pf play.
I refuse to believe that 90% of Sharks’ skaters are simply just underperforming and don’t care. If it’s just a few players, sure, but this is a widespread issue

Darren Dreger: Re Simon Edvinsson future: San Jose, that speculation has been out there, Michael Misa plus, maybe plus - OverDrive (11/3) ____ NHLRR: It's not clear if the Sharks are willing to include Misa in a package for Edvinsson, but that is speculated to be in Detroit's ask. Some reports suggest that not only are the Red Wings asking for Misa, but would not simply accept him one for one for Edvinsson

Something really has to change, the whole team is dejected and looks relieved whenever a goal is scored, zero creativity on the puck and caught watching far too many times

The Sharks have some soul searching to do. Top to bottom. Something HAS to change. They feel broken right now.

I wonder what more Dickinson needs to do to prove he’s earned PP minutes on the San Jose Sharks.
Dickinson just oozing condfidence right now

Happy for Dickinson. He’s really put in the work to clean up his defensive game. Sharks really should give the kid a crack at the power play.

Not the worst, not the best among the hometown remix. The Sharks have had worse looks, and definitely some better ones.
Ladies and gentlemen, the #SJSharks hometown remix jersey is here!

The #SJSharks need to take a long look in the mirror after today's game. It sounds like that's what will happen. This is MY OPINION. Criticism for tough play should be and is fair, but remember, these people are human—my thoughts on @SharksHKYDigest.ā¤µļø sharkshockeydigest.com/san-j…

There’s consistent puck watching, players often looking confused or like they don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing. The system doesn’t seem effective in the slightest, especially 5-on-5. Not all of it falls on Warsofsky, but seeing no improvement game over game is concerning. It feels like they’re trying to rely strictly on Celebrini because it worked last season, and now that it’s not, they don’t know what to do.

When the team makes the same mistakes every game, usually an indication that the coaching isn’t working. The Sharks need to change something. Either philosophically or in personnel.
For the second straight game, the #SJSharks are being outcoached heavily. Eventually you’d think something needs to change one way or another.

Fair response by Warsofsky. He shouldn’t be criticized for changing lines. It’s the timing. Keeping cold lines together too long and burying young guys for mistakes when vets aren’t playing any better is my main gripe. Lots of season left to find right combos. #SJSharks
#SJSharks Head coach Ryan Warsofsky addresses splitting up Celebrini and Smith: "We're acting like I'm the only coach who changes the lines. When things aren't working, you've got to change things up, and that's what we did. And we have two really good players. We can separate them and make matchups a little bit more difficult. We tried to get it going. Obviously, didn't work. Would we go back to it? Possibly. It's not just about two players. It's about our team playing the right way. And if things aren't working, my job as the coach is to mix things up and get them working again. That's all I have to say about it."
