But yes, if you are going to take a huge loss making any repairs to the apartments you own, because you are legally prohibited from ever charging enough to earn back the costs of maintenance in the year of our lord 2026, that is a problem. People forget that buildings have active costs associated with them. Everything is in a state of entropy. Rent is not a made up number that greedy landlords collect because they are evil. There is an active, ongoing cost to keeping a building running.
