Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in commemorating the victims and the survivors of Michael Myers.

It’s nearly Halloween, and to celebrate we’re giving away Blu-rays of 1978 classic The Shout and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Both are available now from the Criterion Collection. RT this, we’ll pick three winners on 3 November. #Criterion @amazonuk @hmvtweets
I do not enjoy this movie like so many of you do but this first point is one of the most insane subplots of all time and nobody else mentions it so thank you, Jarvis. I thought I was going insane.
Things I love about Tombstone:
- Kurt Russell leaving his boring wife for some rando skank and this is presented as heroic
- It came out in 1993 but Sam Elliott looks exactly the same as he does now
- Everything Val Kilmer does
- Everything Billy Zane does
- The opening scene where the bad guys come into town and shoot everyone at a wedding. I stood up and CHEERED. You could have ended the movie right there and I would have been happy.
- How Earp’s lunatic Revenge Tour of Murder was pretty much real and the cops had to be like hey … you’re not actually allowed to do that.
Kept forgetting there was a new season of SUGAR.
5 minutes in and I’m sat here wondering what’s different about it and then realised it’s full of colour. Looks like nothing else on TV. Apple love to burn money on these shows that no one watches.
The Omen: “all seven daggers must be used to exterminate the evil”
The Omen III: “actually, one should suffice.”
Hooking up a shotgun to my office door and pointing it at my head because a Rottweiler told me to do it.
Lest you think there’s not much going on in the North East, the BBCs top new story for the day from my neck of the woods is a journalistic scorcher.
Funny how much was said of this being a Bush administration satire, but Romero clearly saw where things were heading a decade later.
Thank goodness he didn’t make any more of these. Yes, this is definitely the last zombie film George made.
Haven’t seen this in a loooooong time. Never quite sure if this was a continuation or a new trilogy. Doesn’t feel like the same world. Day felt hopeless. End of times. Nice to see Romero with a budget though.
