Great collab w/ @UGAPharmacy students Meg George & Tonisha Gaitor, @andhen25, and @DavidCluck2, examining climate change's impact on fungal infections, incl. increased virulence, resistance, & emerging pathogens! Thanks @TAInfDis! journals.sagepub.com/doi/ful…
🌍🔥 Climate change is fueling the rise of fungal infections! Warmer temps, extreme weather & shifting ecosystems are making fungi more virulent & drug-resistant. With rising host susceptibility, the threat is growing.

Thanks @CalderwoodMD for sharing my slides on this important @CIDJournal paper highlighting the diversity and longitudinal trends of SAB, with subphenotypes that impact outcomes—crucial insights for personalizing therapy
Fascinating study discussed at #IDWeek2024. Four different clinical phenotypes for S aureus bacteremia. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3891… Highest mortality in A, lower mortality in B and E, microbiologic outcomes worse in C (with adjunctive rifampicin benefit seen in C).
