Will you agree with me when I say modern illiteracy is not the inability to read and write; it is the inability to think critically, question what one is taught, and distinguish truth from manipulation? – at Nairobi, Kenya

"The presence of brown, runny human excreta with flies buzzing around it on the plate served to me by a restaurant raises serious questions about its presentation, hygiene and best practices. My jollof rice is at stake here!" Una still dey speak plenty grammar with people that are not speaking English with you. E say na "our democracy is at stake." Which yeye democracy do we have? Is our president democratically elected? Which election did he win? Whenever una tire for all this performance artistry sha.
INEC cannot afford to be careless with the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral process. The presence of AI-generated images in a register meant to support our democracy raises serious questions about verification, transparency and accountability. Our democracy is at stake here!

Western democracies cry about foreign interference in their elections all the time, even without evidence, especially when things don't go the way of the ruling camp. Africans on the other hand, deny foreign interference in their local elections, even when presented with evidence. I have never seen this type of thing in my life.

Why Africa Has "Electocracy," Not Democracy @wmnjoya, associate professor in the Language and Performing Arts Department at Kenya's Daystar University, argues that Africans have no democracy, but a restirctive, Western-imposed system that handpicks African leaders based on who is best for Western interests regardless of any actual election outcomes. According to her, this situation where box-checking exercises that suit the description of "elections" are held without any actual organic choice from the people, is not a democracy, but an "electocracy". Why do Africans continue to vote in such a restrictive system? Drop us a comment. Video credit: @officialorina

Until 2013, the Mormon Church taught that slavery was sanctioned by God and that black skin is the result of a divine curse which will be lifted at death if black people are righteous, after which they will become white. Why on earth is this church growing fast in Africa?
Mormons: One Of Christianity’s Most R*cist Groups What do you really know about the Mormon Church? What did the founders of this church really believe about the world? And do the friendly smiles and demeanors of its missionaries across the globe today symbolize sincere intentions, or hide a dark truth? In this report for The Spearhead, @okorieuche_ sheds light on the history of one of Christianity’s most r*cist denominations.

Imagine spending 66 years under an embargo imposed by a country 90 miles away that has tried to assassinate your head of state over 600 times. And then being lectured by that country about democracy. Cuba has survived this. Cuba is still there. The lecture continues.
The Castro regime has profited at the expense of the Cuban people with luxury cars, expensive watches and a private island resort. As I shared this with the world, regime thugs rushed the stage to interrupt my speech. They can intimidate their own people in Cuba but think again about trying that nonsense in the United States of America.

They’re moving this way because they know it’s rare to encounter Nigerians with firearms. They wouldn’t dare try this in places where guns are common and legal.
Seems they've forgotten they can be shot. Someone needs to remind them

As of Tuesday 27th October 2026, the 42 pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary school abducted on 15th May 2026 have now spent 166 days in terrorists captivity in Borno State. 5 months, 16 days now. Children, babies. 166 days without any update from our Military or show of concern from a sitting president. 166 days with no outrage from the nation. Where is our humanity as a modern moral society? Where is our empathy as a nation? Where are Mussa Children? #BringBackMussaChildren

Don't fall for the theater they are putting on with the elections in Israel. They will try to pin all the blame on Netanyahu, but the truth is that the entire nation is involved in this genocide.

The thing about imperialism is that it is ubiquitous and impossible to avoid. Nigerians who think they can have intelligent discussions around politics, economics and business without acknowledging imperialism are just like a castrated man who wants to marry a wife and have kids, but doesn't want to acknowledge his condition. I'm sorry, but just because you're in denial, or the subject makes you uncomfortable, or you don't want to upset your white friends and investors by talking about it does not mean that this 800-foot elephant in the room is going to disappear. The imperial system you live under is why you eat imported rice and your bread is made with imported wheat, while your own agricultural land is used for industrial monoculture plantations growing export crops you can't eat like cocoa and cashew. Imperialism is why your kid goes to school wearing a neck tie, a wool sweater, a thick blazer and cotton socks while the temperature outside is 33⁰C. Imperialism is why you put on your TV news and the presenter is chewing her tongue desperately trying and failing to mimic the accent of a public school headteacher from Abingdon-on-Thames, whereas literally nobody in the history of her watching audience has ever sounded like that. Imperialism is why your central bank interest rate is always double digit, which means that consumer credit is literally nonexistent. No amount of roundtable sessions, seminars, and breakfast meetings with the bankers committee and PhD economists can change that basic eternal reality of your economy. Imperialism is why despite having double digit central bank lending rates, your currency somehow manages to always face inflationary pressure and regularly posts double digit percentage losses in a single day. You can do all the clever economic chart drawings and financial engineering you want, but they are completely useless in the face of imperialist decisions like Structural Adjustment Programs, which you experienced by other names from 1986 to 1988 and from 2023 to 2025. Imperialism is why you can have all your lovely ideas for leadership and governance, and a young population that is hungry for good leadership, but everytime you go into a "democratic election", you end up coming out with Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu. You can read all your "Why Nations Fail" and do all your "PVC sensitisation drives" and do all the "protect the votes" on election day, and at the end of all the wahala, the INEC chairman will announce that a crippled goat with craw-craw has won the election and if you don't like it you will go and meet Kekere-Ekun in court. Imperialism is why when you are having sex with your partner, you moan in English and make American noises even though you've never left Owerri before, and your sexual encounters always happen with a specific sequence that starts from oral and culminates in doggy - it's because all the porn you have ever watched in your life has been hosted and curated by American platforms, and you have over time taken on their sexual personality as your own. Imperialism is why you build with cement blocks plastered with concrete in your 34⁰C climate, even though concrete generates vast amounts of heat as it cures, and it can take years to fully cure, during which time it slowly cooks you in your own house - but rammed earth which your ancestors used is only just becoming a thing once again because white people have "discovered" it and put a brand on it that makes it desirable after they once labelled it as 'primitive'. I could go on and on. As long as you're determined to avoid confronting the ubiquitous and all-pervasive reality of imperialism in Nigeria, you're not really ready to confront whatever problem you are facing, from food to healthcare to education to public policy to poverty. If you're not acknowledging that underlying reality, you're just another Nigerian wasting their whole life performing the appearance of thinking, and creating useless content.

It hurts me, but I will wait. I will wait until after the elections before we have this conversation again. I don't want to deflate the zest of our young people. Because this democracy that neither guarantees free and fair elections, nor one's safety after speaking their mind publicly, will not likely not respond to the 'power' of our inky fingers pressed to a paper, next to a logo. It hurts me that every inevitable failure is equal to 4 more years of one's life wasted. It's okay to waste 4 years when you're young. But some people don't have many more 4 years to waste. But let's go on to the polls. We will vote and protect it. Maybe Democracy will finally work — for the first time. For us. Because our case is different.

Mississippi Attorney General: Police "Justified" to Shoot 1-Year-Old A police investigation into alleged stolen diapers and baby clothes k*lled a 1-year-old Black boy in Mississippi, enraging many over yet another state-sanctioned m*rder of Black children. Kohen Wiley was seated in the lap of his mother, Vellesiya Wiley, while they drove away from a Walmart store on 14 June in the city of Senatobia, in the US state of Mississippi. While officers claim Vellesiya’s friend, Latoya Ferrell, drove toward the police car, the gun shots hit the side of Ferrell’s car, raising questions about the officers’ claim. Ferrell was also critically injured. The k*lling of a Black toddler is yet another in a long line in the 407-year-old g*nocide of African people in the US. According to a data analysis by the Washington-based Children’s National Hospital, police are six times more likely to k*ll Black children aged 12 to 17 than white children of the same age group. Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch released a statement on 19 October that the shooting was "justified" and Police Sgt. Hunter Foster would not face criminal charges. However, the family has since reviewed police footage and refute Fitch's claim. The city announced on 16 June that one police officer had been placed on leave. Foster has resigned. Kohen Wiley would have turned 2 on 1 November.

If whoever wins the next election cannot break away from the forces of imperialism, meaningful change will remain difficult. They will have their hands tied and face constant resistance from forces determined to frustrate their efforts and make their tenure unbearable.
Replying to @SirRalph_komic
Please just shut up. What have you or anybody ever done for anti imperialism? Literally? Don't create a divide in a desperate need for attention or the performance or intelligence.
