The release of 457 prisoners by #Bahrain, including some jailed since the Pearl Uprising, is welcome news. But Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja, Abduljalil Al-Singace & Sheikh Ali Salman are still unjustly imprisoned. When will they be released? #DefendingFreedoms barrons.com/news/activists-a…

Health is not just an individual medical issue; it is a social and political issue. This implies that the health of the population improves as a result of collective, not individual, action. Consequently, improving health is about building communities, rather than just providing directions, referrals, or linking individuals to activities or projects. Feeling connected to one's neighborhood, having a strong community and community control are essential drivers for overall well-being. Therefore, there is a need for much more emphasis on the importance of and investment in community life👇

This was a hit at Avignon. Only in the UK for a very short time. Don't miss it
Today marks International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. This Oct, we welcome Indigenous artist @tizianocruz (Jujuy, Argentina) for the UK premiere 'Soliloquio (I woke up and hit my head against the wall)': a raw portrayal of art, justice & indigenous marginalisation.

Knowing how to win elections is a key political skill. So’s being expert in policy technicalities. But so too is knowing how to fight in the ideological, cultural & rhetorical theatre. It’s obvious to us who haunt reactionary online spaces that Lab is failing at the latter (10/?)

If theatres were genuinely radical or transformative they wouldn't give rich people priority when booking for new shows. Just saying.

Tonight thousands will gather at Stonehenge in an ancient tradition... which isn't ancient at all. It's being going on for just 24 years. The modern story of Stonehenge involves sacramental LSD, police brutality and a young Keir Starmer. It is fascinating. A solstice thread/1

i have strong adhd symptoms. no system, framework, plan, etc ever helped for more than a day or two what has been transformative is to expand consciousness - as you said, meditation is one way to flesh that out a bit more, develop the ability to: - see yourself - see your thoughts - feel your body - allow emotion to flow through you - expand awareness beyond the identity of the self - connect with the energy in me, tune in and let it flow naturally example - feel the pull to pick up my phone and scroll - notice the sense of wanting to find a solution to some vague problem - notice the uneasy sensation in my gut - feel the sensation fully and allow it to flow - become aware of the space in and around me - connect with aliveness and energy in me without needing to change it - notice it is leading me to a creative action, in a simple way i dont actually believe anymore that adhd has to be managed. that only leads to more layers that cut us off from ourselves instead its about becoming in tune with our natural flow and seeing that is incredibly powerful and creative

Between leaving kids to their own devices and stepping in as a judge to determine who's in the right, there's a whole middle ground of different ways to support them. What they have in common is doing less and being fully present with both children.

Most impressive in Trump's trial are the citizens on the jury, doing their duty, showing a level of courage which, if others of us can attain it, will get us through this to a much better tomorrow.

I listened to @krishgm interviewing @JosephEStiglitz (the economist) the other day. Stiglitz is promoting his new book at the moment. He wrapped up by saying that Neoliberalism is in its death throes and asking 'as Neoliberalism dies, what is going to replace it?' 1/

What’s beautiful about being guided by purpose rather than extrinsic notions of success is that it might lead you on much more unconventional and enriching journeys. Maybe your success is better served by working with a youth group, rather than taking that role at the NT …
