The DCoP NI Committee wrote to Sarb Bajwa, @BPSOfficial CEO on Monday to state our dissatisfaction, and highlight how the closure of the QCoP route will significantly threaten the future of the counselling psychology profession in Northern Ireland 2/3 @dcopuk @NIBPS

We are extremely concerned about @BPSofficial initial decision WITHOUT ANY CONSULTATION to close the QCoP training route and how they have and continue to treat @dcopuk and the counselling psychology membership with contempt. 1/3 @NIBPS

2/ Meet us across from the Albert clock near high street at 11.45 and we will give you your wristbands so you can then access the 'red zone' and line up at 12pm. Please bring along your family and friends as we are a very small group! @NIBPS @nibpsoffice #BelfastPride

1/ You are invited to be a part of the PSCNI presence at Belfast Pride Parade this Saturday! It is always a good day out and it is also important for psychologists to be open and public about supporting Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community. @NIBPS @nibpsoffice #BelfastPride

There are many barriers to qualification as a counselling psychologist, it’s unfair that aspiring psychologists in NI face much greater challenges to access courses in Wales, England and Scotland. Totally support your efforts DCoPNI!

It is unfair and unreasonable that aspiring CoPsys have to self-fund, travel to GB to attend lectures AND work for FREE whilst on professional practice placements in our @HSC_NI Trust services. We encourage all stakeholders to engage us about this 1/2

Really enjoyed connecting with the Exec Committee today and excited to push forward with some exciting @dcopuk and @DCoPNI developments over the next year.
Great first meeting as @dcopuk chair today. Lovely to meet fellow EC members-all volunteers, many new to @BPSOfficial committees. Engaged, thoughtful, forward thinking - building on recent progress & with an eye firmly fixed on meeting needs of members, stakeholders & profession
