Latest numbers show the adoption and usage of the Brave browser as well as the Brave search engine is picking up.
Brave browser:
- Monthly Active Users (MAU) exceeded 130 million for the first time in October (up from 126 million reported in August)
- Daily Active Users (DAU) hit a record 55.42 million
- Daily browsing time stands at round 7.26 billion minutes
Brave search:
- 2.71 billion queries across October
- A single-day record of 91.77 million searches on October 25
@DCubbins from our team notes:
"Even more interesting is that 10.1% of all those monthly searches came from people who are not even using the Brave browser. That share has been creeping up from around 8% over the summer, meaning plenty of folks on Chrome or Safari are actively going out of their way to use Brave Search on its own."

Although delayed, horizontal tab scrolling has finally arrived on Google Chrome. You can test the feature out in the latest Chrome Canary build.
One of our team members explains why this is a big deal:
"If you’re someone who keeps dozens of tabs open at once, you probably know how frustrating Chrome has felt for much of the year. Tabs keep shrinking into tiny slivers until you can barely see the site icons. Things got especially frustrating back in January, when Chrome and Brave removed the old tab-scrolling flag, prompting plenty of people to consider switching to Firefox or Vivaldi."
The feature can be enabled by flipping on a flag. We tried it at our end, and it works as expected.

Any Indian company that launches a phone out of the blue is using Chinese hardware. It shouldn't be a surprise at this point.
Mivi One 5G software looks made by Chinese ODM CNCE (Chino-E) 🇮🇳👀
Mivi says the Mivi One 5G is designed in Hyderabad, but the phone's software tells a different story.
🏭 Face unlock and WiFi settings carry the "cnce" name
🔍 Google client ID on the phone says "android-chinoe"
🖥️ Software was compiled on a PC named "sz" (Shenzhen) with China Standard Time timestamps
📷 Camera app comes from a third party Chinese developer, Xunrui
⚙️ Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (SM4450), Android 16 on top, Android 15 underneath
The phone may be assembled in India, but the software side points to Chino-E in Shenzhen. Mivi has not confirmed this.
Made in India, coded in Shenzhen.

Security Alert: U.S. Mission Saudi Arabia (November 2, 2026)
Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including attacks on civilian airports and other critical infrastructure resulting in civilian casualties and severe travel disruptions. The hostilities have the potential to escalate rapidly beyond that immediate area.
Effective October 23, 2026, the Department of State ordered non-emergency U.S. government employees and U.S. government employee family members to leave Saudi Arabia due to safety risks.
U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia require special authorization from Chief of Mission to use any airport in Saudi Arabia following recent missile and UAV attacks on airports in the Kingdom.
U.S. citizens should be aware of potential attacks on airports, airspace closures, flight cancellations, and travel disruptions. Please take extreme caution if you choose to use airports in Saudi Arabia. We recommend checking your flight departure status directly with the airline and with the airport.

It doesn't exactly work this way. You're still paying more. Grok Bot usage limits are better than what you'll get if you pay for ChatGPT, Claude and so on. You'll just be paying more.
For example, just one task that normally used 1-2% of my weekly usage on Grok Bot took out 15% of my weekly usage when using GPT-6 Luna via an Opencode Go sub. 😬
It took way longer and had a worse output too.
Looks like OpenAI is already testing its next big update in the wild. Several Codex users noticed "gpt-6.2-astra" quietly showing up in their usage analytics over the weekend, even with the model picker still reading GPT-6 Astra.
