What makes an association like DDA work and grow?
Is it the buildings π’ ? Is it the fundingπ°? Is it policy and procedure π ?
Not really.
Itβs the people. The kind of people who dedicate their working lives to supporting society's most vulnerable populations.
Compassion. Empathy. Kindness. Understanding. β€οΈ
Every person celebrated in this video has been with DDA for at least 20 years.
That says something about working at DDA, but it says a lot more about the people who make it go.
Congratulations on 20+ years of working at DDA! We see you.

Get ready...it's time again for The Great British Columbia ShakeOut! π’
Offices across the Lower Mainland - including DDA - will take part in the annual earthquake safety and awareness campaign.
You can practice at home too:
When the drill begins @1015, remember: DROP, COVER AND HOLD ON!
β’ DROP to your hands and knees. This position helps prevent you from being knocked over.
β’ COVER your head and neck and take shelter under a sturdy desk or table.
β’ HOLD ON to your shelter until the shaking stops. If you cannot get under a desk or table, crouch in an interior corner and protect your head and neck with your arms.

At our Creekside Child Development Centre in False Creek, the little ones sat down together for a Thanksgiving feast, a tradition that began at Creekside in 2011.
Fifteen years on, it's still one of our favourite days of the year: a roasted turkey and a room full of kids who are proud to be at the table together.
Thank you to our Creekside educators for making this day special year after year, and to the families who make our community what it is.
Happy Thanksgiving, turkeys! *gobble gobble!*
π Happy Thanksgiving π
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving weekend is already here.
A time to slow down and take in the splendour of the changing season.
We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and get to spend time with loved ones. π¦
