UK REFUSES TO INVESTIGATE EMIRATI OWNER OF MANCHESTER CITY OVER SUDAN GENOCIDE
The UK government is reportedly refusing to investigate UAE Vice-President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the billionaire owner of Manchester City Football Club, for his direct role in funding state-sponsored atrocities in Sudan.
As reported by The Daily Telegraph, UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband was presented with a detailed dossier outlining Sheikh Mansour’s links to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a militia confirmed by UN investigators to have committed g*nocide in the western Sudanese city of Al-Fashir in October 2025.
Despite announcing sanctions against individual RSF leaders on the one-year anniversary of the g*nocide in Al-Fashir, Miliband reportedly rejected calls to investigate or sanction the Manchester City owner.
A New York Times investigation previously exposed how CIA-intercepted phone calls caught Sheikh Mansour directly coordinating with RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemedti.
It was revealed that "humanitarian hospitals" established under Sheikh Mansour's charities were used as cover for supplying the militia with weapons.
The refusal to act comes as the UAE has been accused of "blackmailing" the UK over a separate scandal linked to Sheikh Mansour.
In September 2026, the Premier League - England's highest football league - found Emirati state-owned Manchester City guilty of financial cheating.
However, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he would be “really concerned” if Sheikh Mansour was forced to sell the club, with the UAE reportedly threatening to withhold investments from the UK over Manchester City’s guilty verdict.
With the UK being unable to call out the UAE even as the latter threatens the integrity of a British institution like the Premier League, it raises the question: what can the UAE do for Sudanese victims of a UAE-funded g*nocide?

Something I never thought I would hear is a part of Somalia appearing on the list of entities participating in Sudan’s ethnic cleansing and genocide. To see mercenaries from Ethiopia, northern Somalia (PUNTLAND), and Colombia listed together is jarring.
The brotherly support the people and government of Sudan historically showed us was not deserved to be repaid like this. Sudan was the only government that extended us massive educational assistance when our nation collapsed. We share a long history in diplomacy and the arts.
What was known to us but kept hidden from the world is now completely exposed. What the Puntland leader Said Abdullahi Deni is doing, including piracy, is terrible. Acting as a mercenary at the behest of the UAE is a disgrace and a stain that will remain on Somalia’s future.

Bad news for those in Puntland who’ve been complicit in the massacres in Sudan. According to Middle East Eye, a UN report submitted to the Security Council last week shows that Colombian mercenaries were trained at the PMPF base in Bosaso before being flown from there to Sudan.
The report is now before the Security Council, and the UN has the evidence of Deni’s role in Sudan’s war. That is ends his presidential ambitions in Somalia.
