On 16 October, DGCX launched benchmark-linked trading on its T+0 settled, 1 kg UAEGD Spot Gold Physical contract, marking another milestone in advancing Dubai’s gold trading infrastructure through more efficient transactions, transparent price discovery and the continued development of a competitive, internationally connected bullion market.
The new offering enables market participants to trade physical gold at a premium or discount to the internationally recognised LBMA Gold Price AM, combining global benchmark-linked pricing with same-day physical settlement. Supported by DCCC as DGCX’s central counterparty, the contract provides a transparent, regulated trading mechanism that improves operational efficiency, strengthens market confidence and brings greater connectivity between international gold pricing and the UAE’s physical bullion market.
DGCX thanks SAM Precious Metals FZ-LLC and Kanji Bullion Trading LLC for executing the first trade, alongside Ashoka Global FZCO, M A H Gold and Jewellery LLC, Peekay Intermark Ltd and all participating members for their support.
Congratulations to seven members of the DMCC community recognised in the UAE’s Future100, an initiative led by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.

Dubai's ambition to become a global centre for gold trading, price discovery, and risk management began more than 24 years ago.
On 24 April 2002, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the creation of the Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre, with the ambition of capturing half of the international gold business.
At the time, Dubai held approximately 10% of the market.
Today, the UAE is the world's second-largest physical gold trading hub, after Switzerland. DGCX has played a central role in this growth, providing the exchange infrastructure that connects physical commodities with transparent price discovery, central clearing, and risk management.
That journey began in November 2005, when DGCX launched as the first derivatives exchange in the Middle East and North Africa. Supported by the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation and DMCC Tradeflow, the exchange has continued to expand Dubai's trading, clearing, and physical delivery infrastructure.
That momentum continues. In the first eight months of 2026, DGCX traded volume rose 29% and traded value rose 49% to USD 46.43 billion. In June, we launched the GCC's first same-day physically settled spot gold contract on a regulated exchange, and more than one tonne has been traded and settled to date. From 16 October 2026, the contract will also support LBMA benchmark-linked pricing, further connecting international gold markets with regional physical settlement.
On 8 October 2026, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Development of the Economic and Financial Sector, chaired a meeting reviewing six strategic directions for the Dubai Gold Strategy, covering trading, financing, storage, competitiveness, price discovery, and jewellery and retail demand. The strategy builds directly on the ambition established in 2002.
Dubai's foreign gold trade reached about AED 1 trillion in 2025, up 60% on the previous year. For DGCX, supporting these priorities means broadening market participation, deepening liquidity, and giving bullion businesses effective tools to trade, hedge, clear, and settle.
Join us at the 14th Dubai Precious Metals Conference, 16 and 17 November 2026, at SO/ Uptown Dubai, to explore the market infrastructure and partnerships shaping the next phase of the global gold trade.

@MaktoumMohammed
DGCX congratulates the @ICE_Markets team on launching new precious metals futures contracts in London, covering gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.
This is a welcome development for global bullion markets. Exchange-traded contracts linked to established benchmark prices give hedgers and traders additional tools to manage price risk, with the potential to deepen liquidity and support price discovery. A broader network of well-regulated futures markets strengthens the ecosystem for all participants.
At DGCX, we share this commitment to integrating physical and financial commodity markets. Through our growing range of products and our trading, clearing, and settlement infrastructure, we are helping market participants manage risk and connect the trade flows that pass through Dubai with global markets. This work reinforces Dubai's position as a leading international hub for precious metals trading.

DGCX is taking the next step in the evolution of its Spot Gold T+0 contract, strengthening the connection between global price discovery and regional physical settlement.
From 16 October 2026, members will be able to trade with reference to the LBMA AM Fix, with orders accepted and matched on a premium or discount basis and settled the same day in UAE Good Delivery (UGD) 1kg gold bars.
By combining one of the world’s most recognised gold benchmarks with the UAE’s own certified delivery standard, this latest development will provide a stronger bridge between international liquidity and the region’s physical gold market.
It marks another step in DGCX’s ambition to build robust, globally connected market infrastructure that brings physical and financial markets closer together, while reinforcing the UAE’s position as a trusted and transparent global hub for bullion and commodities trading.
DMCC and @dubaifuturefund have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen connectivity across Dubai’s technology, startup and investment landscape.
The collaboration, signed by DMCC’s Chief Free Zone Affairs Officer, Ahmad Hamza, and Nader Albastaki, DFDF Managing Director, will bring startups closer to sources of capital and strategic partners in the UAE and internationally, while opening up greater access to mentorship, expertise and new markets.
DMCC and DFDF will also bring their respective networks together through joint events and industry engagement, supported by the exchange of market insights to advance innovation and entrepreneurship across the UAE.

DGCX congratulates Paul Brink, President and Chief Executive Officer of Franco-Nevada Corporation, on his appointment as Chair of the @GOLDCOUNCIL.
Under his leadership, we look forward to building on our collaboration with the Council and advancing our shared commitment to a strong, transparent, and responsible global gold industry. We wish Paul every success as he assumes the chairmanship.
DGCX has signed a strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (@TCS) to advance and upgrade its infrastructure through a next-generation integrated trading, clearing and surveillance solution. The partnership will provide DGCX with flexible, scalable technology to serve regional and international market participants across established and emerging asset classes. It is also expected to improve operational efficiency and accelerate the development of new products.
Building on strong trading volumes in 2025 and recent product innovation, including the launch of the Gold Spot T+0 Contract, the new infrastructure will support DGCX’s offering across energy, currencies, equities and precious metals, while creating greater capacity to develop and bring new products to market, including crypto and tokenised assets.
