A mosque in my area needs to purchase a generator, and all they need is ₦290,000. I pray that someone who can afford to support them comes across this post and helps them.

There is something almost absurd about Lionel Messi’s longevity.
At an age when most footballers have either retired or become passengers in their teams, Messi is sitting on 58 goal contributions in 42 games in 2026. And tonight, against Atlanta United, he has the opportunity to record a goal contribution in his 14th consecutive game.
Fourteen consecutive games.
Do you understand how difficult that is? To show up match after match, against different opponents, under different circumstances, and still find a way to influence the outcome?
What makes this even crazier is the historical context. The last time Messi produced a 14 game goal contribution streak was in 2011, during one of the greatest individual years football has ever witnessed.
Fifteen years later, he is chasing that same milestone.
Fifteen years of football. Different teammates, different managers, different leagues, different challenges, and a body that has carried the burden of an extraordinary career.
Yet the genius remains.
Messi's greatness has never been confined to scoring goals. He can dictate the rhythm of a game, dismantle a defensive structure with a pass, create opportunities from seemingly impossible situations, and decide matches without necessarily being the goalscorer.
That is why these numbers matter. They are not merely evidence of a player who can still score. They are evidence of a footballer who continues to find ways to influence games, even as time moves forward.
We have spent years debating his greatness as though it were something that needed to be proven again and again. But perhaps the most remarkable thing about Lionel Messi is that, after everything he has achieved, he continues to give us new reasons to appreciate him.
The greatest years of his career may be behind him, but the greatness itself has never disappeared.
And if he gets that contribution tonight, remember what you are witnessing: a 39 year old chasing a milestone he last reached at 24.
Some careers are legendary because of what happened at their peak.
Messi's is legendary because, even long after that peak, he keeps finding ways to astonish us.
