Woohoo! @Rahdo named #DogLover (my newest game from @alderac) his game of the month! “It’s so sweet and charming... and simple and easy and elegant to play, and yet so robust.” Thanks, Richard. Check it out!

We do not support AI Art in board games and do not wish to cover games with such. We've had almost weekly requests for such and many of these we've had to ask/follow up multiple emails to even discover this, all of this to say: stay true to your values and ask the hard questions.

Good news for a game that just made Tom and the people's choice number 1 game of 2023 today. Further, it was also Mike's number 2, Camilla's 3, Wendy's 5, and Zee's 7.

Rodney has been thoughtful and welcoming in every interaction I've had with him or seen him have with others at conventions.
David Leavitt, on the other hand, was a quick and easy block on every social media account possible. No regrets. —WEM

This is your updated PSA on David Leavitt, his latest nonsense, and how you can avoid falling for it. Yes, he recently made a bunch of reckless claims about me, but I'm fine. Perhaps we can help make sure others don't fall for it.
I’m not very active on here anymore (and I’m not sure I ever will be again). Thankfully, there are solid alternatives. You can find me on that clothing site and up in azul space… but mostly on the clothing site. I love it there!

Me: "I have 6 points"
Sister: "I have 6 points. What's the tie-breaker?"
Me: "Number of cards left in hand. I have 1."
Sister: "I also have 1."
Me: "Ok, then it says we share the victory."
Sister: "...So I played for NOTHING?!"

Had a few more thoughts about the AI Art in board games discussion. I doubt I’ll have much more to say on the topic for awhile, but wanted to pass this along in case it struck a meaningful chord for anyone else wrestling with it.

There are a lot of good ethical and aesthetic reasons to avoid AI Art. But, I haven't seen as many folks talk about the implications for our creative practices. When I read @Charlie_L_Hall's excellent interview, I was stuck most by how creatively bankrupt the whole endeavor was.

For those who haven't made it through @Charlie_L_Hall's interview with Travis Worthington on the use of generative AI illustrations in More Terraforming Mars!, here are ten takeaways from the conversation.
As his Kickstarter passes $1.3 million, publisher defends Terraforming Mars’ generative AI art: ‘It’s too powerful a technology’ trib.al/m31STcn
David Short retweeted
I find it unconscionable for publishers to use generative AI to replace human creative input. Beyond the intellectual theft that it perpetuates, it moves us further along the path of not paying creatives what they are worth, something that is already a problem in this industry!
