Yesterday we approved the final investment decision on Sunrise Energy Metals’ Syerston Scandium project in New South Wales, Australia. Scandium is a critically important metal because it makes aluminium lighter and stronger, for applications in aerospace, defence and advanced electronics. Its use has been held back for decades because we have not had a reliable, scalable western source of supply… Syerston is set to be the world’s first major primary scandium mine. Early works are under way, and we are targeting first production in 2028. @SunriseMetals bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Gold & silver have taken a hit. Is this just a seasonal sell-off, and is it time to buy the dip? I sat down with Vince Lanci @Sorenthek to break down what’s behind the recent drop, where he’s looking to put money to work, and what could come next for precious metals. We also tackle the Fed’s inflation dilemma, Christine Lagarde’s surprise early exit from the ECB, Judy Shelton joining the Treasury, and the physical gold market increasingly moving East. And Vince makes a much bigger call: he believes we’re on a path back to the 1970s, with inflation potentially reaching 10% and gold $10,000 within 2–5 years. Plus: China & Hong Kong’s growing role in physical metals, tokenization, the $6.3B Binance hack, and yes, whether fusion could eventually make gold. Packed conversation. Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer. Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war. To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha. The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people. And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final. We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it. Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made. They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making. One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

Very unusual resignation video by ECB Head, Christine Lagarde, yesterday. The comments section debates the unusual symbolism all around. It indeed, looks like a hostage video and ritualistic-type humiliation.
This is Christine Lagarde, the President of the European Central Bank, who just resigned. She has bandages on her face, and on the table is an owl sculpture. Something very strange is going on...

“Are you going to shoot at us?” - that is the question I asked police officers outside Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw on 30 October. In this video, I read out a document marked “VERY URGENT!” bearing the name and signature of Poland’s Deputy Chief of Police. It orders designated riot police units to remain fully prepared for immediate deployment from 2 to 8 November. The equipment listed includes handguns, submachine guns, bulletproof vests, helmets and backpack-mounted pepper spray devices. I speak directly to the officers because behind every uniform is a human being. Someone who must understand the orders they carry out and who those orders affect. The police are there to protect citizens, including when they protest and oppose those in power. I am also sharing this video for audiences outside Poland. I want the world to hear the questions being asked outside the seat of Poland’s constitutional court.

Chinese copper buyers rushing to secure supply in a tightening market have sent a key gauge of import demand shooting to a record high. The surge in the Yangshan premium — named after a Shanghai port that’s a major hub for Chinese copper imports — over the last couple of months reflects greater competition for the metal both inside and outside the country. Sergey Glazyev: The war in Ukraine is part of a five-phase Brzezinski strategy to break up Eurasia. Phase one was the 2014 coup. Phase two was separating Europe from Russia, including the Nord Stream bombings. Phases three, four and five—regime change in Russia, the destruction of Iran, and the isolation of China—all failed. “I see the war in Ukraine as part of the strategy. The American administration till now has used the Brzezinski strategy, which has five phases. The first phase is to create an anti-Russian state in Ukraine. They did this by means of the Maidan and coup d’état in 2014. The second phase was to take Europe away from Russia. They did this a little bit later, including bombing and the collapse of the pipelines in the Baltic Sea. Then the third phase was to organize a revolution in Russia and to bring to power a regime that would be under Western control. This phase failed. The fourth phase, according to the Brzezinski plan, was to ruin Iran. This phase failed as well. And the final phase, the fifth phase, was to isolate China. So this was a five-stage plan, but it was not realistic. It failed, and it had to fail. They did what they could do, just create war in Europe. So the war in Europe was created not by Russia, not by Ukraine. It was created by the Americans and the Western deep state, which was trying to implement the Brzezinski plan. Today it doesn’t work. Trump understands this. By the way, Europe was the main loser in this war. Of course, the worst position is Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. They lost their homes; they lost their country, in fact. So, of course, Ukraine became the victim of this Western strategy. But Europe was the loser. And Europe now has a huge economic crisis without Russian commodities, and energy prices in Europe are the highest in the world. Productivity is much lower than in China. So it has no chance to survive, and Americans are trying to use the situation in Europe—the American elite, I mean—to take again, as it happened in the 20th century during the wars in Europe, capital and brain drain from Europe to the United States. It certainly happens, but not in such large amounts as to benefit the United States. So today the main driving force of Ukrainian war is Europe corruption because corrupted Zelinsky regime is the part of corrupted European political regime. I think, according to some estimates, that about one-third of the money which Europe give to Ukraine comes back in bribes for European politicians. By the way, Musk says this openly and as far as Musk uses the satellite system, he knows everything.”
