Funny how what the anti-capitalist protesters do when they get the chance is loot the fruits of capitalism.

Turkey, China, Qatar…. We are selling our soul one tyranny at a time.
Canada Must Not Trade Away Its Moral High Ground:
October 22, 2026: The Abraham Global Peace Initiative is deeply disappointed by Prime Minister Mark Carney’s strategic partnership with Turkey. Sadly, Canada is aligning itself with Qatar, China and Turkey while failing to reinforce relationships with democratic allies, including the United States and Israel. Ankara and Doha have hosted Hamas leaders, despite Hamas being designated a terrorist organization by Canada. These partnerships raise questions about Ottawa’s commitment to human rights, democracy and confronting extremism. Trade diversification cannot justify overlooking repression or sheltering terrorists. Canada should strengthen alliances rooted in shared democratic values. Why are we surrendering our moral high ground for commercial opportunity? @CdnPressNews @CanadianPM @CanadaFP @Canada @MarkJCarney

NEW: A FOURTH Democrat senator, @SenGaryPeters, comes out IN SUPPORT of @SenatorSlotkin’s policy of weaponizing prosecutions to INTIMIDATE young conservatives out of government service.
The American people have watched President Trump enrich himself and his cronies. Members of both parties should be calling out this Administration's corruption - like @SenatorSlotkin is doing. She is simply saying that no one is above the law, and no one should be.

Turkey 🇹🇷 under Erdoğan has spent years hosting Muslim Brotherhood figures, giving them platforms, and aligning with them against other Arab governments.
Ankara has also openly supported Hamas, treated its leaders as partners, and allowed the group to operate from Turkish soil while condemning Israel for defending itself.
Turkish authorities have detained journalists, purged the military and judiciary, jailed opposition politicians, and cracked down on dissent with methods that human-rights organizations have repeatedly documented. The government has also maintained relationships with other Islamist networks that Western intelligence services have flagged for terror financing and recruitment.
That is the government Canada 🇨🇦 just elevated to a strategic partnership. @MarkJCarney @CanadianPM stood in Ankara, called Turkey an exceptional partner, and launched a three-year plan to expand trade, defence cooperation, energy ties, and people-to-people exchanges. Negotiators will sit down next month to start free-trade talks. Flights will increase. Defence industries will work more closely together.
None of the statements mentioned the Brotherhood networks, the Hamas relationship, or the domestic repression. The Canadian government is treating this as a straightforward diversification win.
It fits the pattern of the past several years. Ottawa has repeatedly prioritized engagement with regimes and movements that promote Islamist political projects while downplaying the practical consequences. The new partnership does not change Turkey’s record. It simply makes Canada a closer partner to a government that has already chosen its side.

More of this bizarre, false dichotomy, 'Why is [harmless, inedible thing we want to break] worth more than our lives?'

I’m seriously disturbed by this black woman who doesn’t support the looting in France. A clear case of internalised racism.
Why won’t they just do what they’re told?

So, to be clear, Canada does not waste opportunities to condemn, lecture and punish Israel. But Turkey, who continues to occupy Cyprus, commit war crimes against Yazidis and jail journalists at will - you embrace them?
Canada’s relationship with Türkiye carries increasing significance for our economic interests and our responsibilities as NATO Allies. In Ankara, I joined Prime Minister Carney and President Erdoğan to advance cooperation in areas central to both countries’ long-term prosperity and security.
I signed an Air Transport Agreement to facilitate travel and commercial exchange, alongside a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation. These agreements will advance our shared priorities of our Strategic Partnership Action Plan and strengthen our collective capacity to respond to an evolving security environment.

Regimes led by communist or Islamist strongmen are now strategic partners that cannot be lectured. Democratic Israel, on the other hand….
Mark Carney in Ankara: “We don’t lecture our partners”
Meanwhile, the welcome package includes the full ceremonial treatment—anthem, gun salute, horses, and a handshake with the man who has spent two decades turning Turkey’s judiciary, media, and opposition into personal property
Trade with Turkey: ~$4.3 billion. Share of Canada’s total merchandise trade: under 0.3%. Still sending the vast majority of exports to the U.S.
So the strategy is clear: flee the tariffs and rhetoric of one imperfect democracy by cozying up to a far more consolidated authoritarian whose market is a rounding error, all while calling it mature realism
“Take the world as it is,” indeed. Just don’t look too closely at the human rights report or the trade balance. And it shields him from the actual domestic democratic scrutiny of Commons @markjcarney

As a cancer physician, this makes my blood boil.
Cancer patients are fighting for access to potentially life-saving treatments, while Ottawa is prepared to write off up to $435 MILLION in dental benefits paid to ineligible people.
Different governments, different budgets. I get it.
But apparently recovering taxpayer money is too much trouble, while denying cancer patients funding is just another day in Canadian healthcare.
Give me a break.

This is, for all intents and purposes, a Nazi rally. The flags and symbols and some of the colors are different, but the rage, the bloodlust, the sense of moral urgency are the same. It does not matter that they’ve swapped “Zios” for “Jews.” They tell themselves that that makes all the difference in the world, but it doesn’t. After all, the only true “Zios” — the only people who could have brought the Zionist project into reality and who can sustain it today and in the future — are Jews. So long as there are any Jews anywhere, there will always be a potential, or latent, Zionism. If you really want to eliminate the cancer, as it were, you have no choice but to eliminate the Jews. Every last one. Everywhere.
