I see how some people can watch flashy robot demos on the timeline and think with a shiver that the robot apocalypse is around the corner, but reality check:
There is no robot in the world that can change the batteries in a jack-o-lantern.
If you have a robot friendly door handle it might be able to walk outside, pick it up, and carry it back inside. The robot could open the drawer with your batteries in it, but then things get tough.
Opening the package of AA batteries?
Extracting a precision screwdriver from its case?
Unscrewing four tiny screws that require a hard press and twist?
Popping batteries out of the case?
Yes, you could build and train a specialist robot to do that today, but there is a very long way to go to replace the full range of human capabilities. Near term doomer scenarios should stop at “secretly controlling humanity” instead of “wiping humanity out” 😀
We are about to have faster everything.
For decades ETH marked a limit on how fast we could solve hard problems.
In practice we'll have better chip design, longer battery life, cheaper deliveries and fewer bugs in software.
A four-minute mile moment for computing.

An internal model at OpenAI has produced a claimed refutation of ETH! Russell Impagliazzo, Mohan Paturi, and I have been asked to help organize an open and independent examination of this claim. 1/4

OpenAI has announced to three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics:
- Local smoothing and the Kakeya conjecture
- The Exponential Time Hypothesis is false
- Existence of quantum chromodynamics and completions of the Standard Model
People are grossly exaggerating Anthropic's $80b loss. Most of that loss was on paper: ANT became more valuable, making the shares owed to investors worth more. Accounting rules count that increase as a loss. The operating loss was only $693m in the first half of this year.
Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC related to its proposed IPO.

Proof generation is an amazing way to verify your app works, as long as you know what to check, ie. proving a user is always charged the displayed amount doesn't prove that amount was calculated correctly.
Another key thing is maintaining these claims as the app evolves, if not careful can hint to the ai wrong behavior.
unfortunately, this isn’t economical for most teams. they run several layers of claude code review in parallel, both locally and in CI. at $15–25 per pull request, a team merging 100 PRs a day would spend $1,500–2,500 daily on reviews alone. at their volume of 1,000 PRs a day, that’s $15,000–25,000.
Claude writes about 90% of Claude Code's code.
From June to September, merged PRs more than doubled while the share reverted fell by more than 40%.
We wrote about how we changed code review to get there, and how to adopt it:

Hi, I'm Felix. I'm an eng lead working on Claude. I love watching people take flight and do things they never thought possible.
We often describe that as "being more ambitious" when using AI, which is tricky advice to follow. I wrote a tutorial:
