China just took humanoid robots to a terrifying new level, and this thing looks straight out of a sci-fi movie.
Unitree’s H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian is shown throwing spinning kicks, doing backflips, surviving 4-meter drops, denting car doors, and even lifting the front of a car.
Imagine what these robots will be capable of in another 5 years. 💀

Jeff Bezos on whether AI ends up saving us or destroying us:
"I'm very optimistic about this."
"These powerful tools are much more likely to help us and save us even than they are to unbalance, hurt us, and destroy us."
"We humans have a lot of ways of, we can make ourselves go extinct. You know, these things may help us not do that."
The people most worried about AI, he says, "may be missing part of the equation."

A cardiologist shocked me when he said:
"You age because your body stops making nitric oxide. Without it, blood pressure rises, erections fail, and Alzheimer's sets in."
Here's the 5-step protocol to boost it naturally:
1. Stop using mouthwash.

Elon Musk told Don Lemon his questions made no sense, and Lemon had to ask him to repeat the word:
Musk: "You are upsetting me because the way you're phrasing the questions I think is not cogent."
Lemon: "It's not what?"
Musk: "Not cogent."
Lemon: "You're an intense person. Where does that intensity come from?"
Musk: "I was born that way. And I had a tough childhood."
Then he ended it: "No, I have a whole room full of people waiting to meet with me."

On November 2, 2026, Anthropic opened a program that pays up to $500,000 a year and doesn't ask if you know machine learning.
It's called the Anthropic Residency. A paid, fixed term research program for academics, technical founders and staff level engineers who want to make AI safe. Placements run from six weeks to six months.
The lab building some of the most advanced AI on the planet is now recruiting people who have never trained a model.
The program was first laid out on Anthropic's alignment blog on October 30. The reasoning was simple. Machine learning is a young field. The skills that make great safety researchers already exist in senior people across quantitative fields. What they lack is time inside frontier AI.
So Anthropic is giving them that time. Residents get dedicated self study hours, talks and guidance to get up to speed on modern ML and AI safety research.
They work directly with frontier models and get their own compute budget for their projects.
The pay matches the seniority. In the US, $350,000 to $500,000 a year, pro rated for the length of the placement. In London, £265,000 to £375,000.
The mentors are the people running the work. Ethan Perez leads Alignment Science. Evan Hubinger leads Alignment Stress Testing and came from MIRI. Sara Price leads Alignment Training, and her background is in data science, not machine learning.
That last detail is the whole thesis in one person.
The Residency grows out of the Anthropic Fellows Program, which proved new researchers could contribute fast. Over 80% of past fellows produced papers. One fellowship project had AI agents uncover $4.6 million in smart contract exploits.
Then came the part almost nobody is talking about.
Anthropic's stated goal is for every Resident to finish ready to work on AI research full time, at Anthropic or elsewhere. Elsewhere. A frontier lab is spending its own compute and its own senior researchers to train people who might walk across the street.
That is not a hiring funnel. That is a bet that the field has too few hands, and that whoever adds them first shapes where it goes.
It has happened before. After World War II, physicists poured into biology. Francis Crick trained in physics, switched fields in 1947, and six years later helped work out the structure of DNA. Molecular biology was built by people who arrived without the expected background.
Wall Street did the same in the 1980s, hiring physicists and mathematicians who had never priced a bond. They became the quants, and within a decade they ran the trading floors.
Applications close November 22. Offers go out in January 2027.
Finance got its quants from physics.
AI safety is getting its researchers from everywhere else.
Applications are now open for the Anthropic Residency, a paid, fixed-term research program for academics, technical founders, and staff-level engineers who want to make AI safe and beneficial for everyone. No ML background is required.
Apply by November 22: alignment.anthropic.com/2026…

A head of innovation at a PE-backed fund services firm told me what they found in their first month on the job.
Contractors had come in and built AI tools fast. "Vibe coding," in their words. A lot of money went out. What came back was some basic HR automation and, as they put it, "nothing that's production ready."
Their verdict on the contractor spend: "It has not gone well."
We've seen this on a lot of calls this fall. A demo takes a few days now, so a vendor can show progress for months without anything going live.
If you've inherited a pile of AI work like this, four questions will sort it:
1. Where does it run? If the answer is somebody's laptop or personal account, you have a prototype.
2. Who gets the call when it breaks during month-end? If you can't name the person, nobody owns it.
3. What do you test it against? Without a set of correct answers your own team signed off on, you can't tell whether it still works after the next model update.
4. Which number moved? Cost per case, days to close, cash collected. If nobody can name one, you paid for a demo.
This person has more ideas than they can count. They asked me for a few things to get shipped, and in my view that's the right ask.
Taking what somebody already built and making it a reputable, governed, stable thing is a big part of our work.

Sam Altman on why he chased AGI when everyone said it couldn't be done:
"It just felt impossible."
"I think most people would say like, of course that'd be the coolest thing ever, but it's totally impossible."
"The more something seemed impossible, the more intrigued I was."
"The idea that we could invent a technology that would let us do everything else... that always seemed innately incredibly appealing to me."

Put Nvidia and SpaceX side by side and the numbers get uncomfortable.
Nvidia valuation: $4.97 trillion
SpaceX valuation: $1.77 trillion
Nvidia revenue: $215 billion
SpaceX revenue: $18.7 billion
Nvidia started at $0.04 a share in 1999. $1,000 back then is worth about $4.9 million today.
SpaceX's IPO asked new buyers to come in at $135 a share. That's 94x revenue.
One got bought before anyone believed in it. The other was sold after everyone did.
Would you have paid 94x?
