HORRIFIC: What happened in Paris yesterday was horrific. A man is dead. Others are fighting for their lives. A 12-year-old girl was shot eight times. And before the blood was even dry, Macron was on camera declaring it a “racist terrorist attack.” Declaring that victims were selected for the colour of their skin and their religion. He called it a “turning point.” Then he said this: “It is the first time we have had a terrorist act that was planned to kill our compatriots, our children, based on the colour of their skin or their religion.” The FIRST time. Let that sink in. The first time? That single sentence should make every French citizen furious. So Toulouse wasn’t a turning point? When Mohamed Merah walked into a Jewish school and executed a rabbi and three small children point-blank, one of them just three years old? Charlie Hebdo wasn’t a turning point? When Islamists massacred journalists for drawing cartoons? Hyper Cacher wasn’t a turning point? When four Jews were murdered simply for being Jews while shopping for Shabbat? The Bataclan wasn’t a turning point? When 90 young people were slaughtered like animals inside a concert hall? Nice wasn’t a turning point? When a truck was driven through families and 86 people were crushed to death, children included? Father Jacques Hamel wasn’t a turning point? When his throat was slit at the altar of his own church? Samuel Paty wasn’t a turning point? When a teacher was beheaded in the street for showing his class free speech? Dominique Bernard wasn’t a turning point? How many corpses did France have to bury before it counted? How many Jewish children, journalists, shoppers, concertgoers, priests and teachers had to die? And let’s be clear about something else: the investigation into yesterday’s horror is still establishing motive. The facts are still being gathered. Yet Macron already has the narrative, the motive, the moral, and the political lesson ready to go. If the evidence proves racist intent, then condemn it to the fullest extent of the law. Call it what it is. No one will defend it. But do not rewrite French history to do it. Do not insult the memory of the dead to serve today’s narrative. France changed long ago. The French people know it because they lived it. They bled through it. They remember the little girl in Toulouse. They remember the editors slumped over their desks. They remember the hostages in the kosher store. They remember the bodies on the floor of the Bataclan. They remember the strollers shattered on the promenade in Nice. They remember the priest. They remember the teacher. You can try to push those atrocities into the background because they are inconvenient to your politics. But you cannot make a nation forget what it saw with its own eyes. Politicians can rewrite the narrative. They will never rewrite people’s memories. And they will never make France forget its dead

🇺🇸🧠 💉 This is beyond DISTURBING... The Gates Foundation just developed “MARK OF THE BEAST” mRNA implants. Crom! As threatened, here is the non-spoiler #DamndestReview of Exorcist III: The Legion Cut (available free on ShoutTV). It's a few minutes shorter than the theatrical cut, despite adding footage that never appeared in the TC (Theatrical Cut). It's a more direct sequel to Exorcist, beginning at the end of the 1st film and removing a bunch of the slow-burn footage from the 1st half of the TC; a change I liked. Things progress faster, making it easier to follow and less boring than the TC. The unfinished footage builds suspense more steadily throughout. Unfortunately, in the 2nd half, with a lot of Exposition by Dourif, the lack of audio enhancement of his voice in the unfinished footage removes much of the gravitas/horror the dialogue had in the TC. His words are horrific but seem far more mundane. Whether this was in service to the different story being told or simply due to lack of time/money is unclear, but I seem to recall large chunks of Dourif's exposition from Legion's unfinished footage also appearing in the TC with different sound filters; indeed, the majority of Dourif's dialogue in Legion is unfinished. So I'm leaning towards "serving the different story" as the reason for that choice. For me, this changed the overall impact of the film. Scott and Dourif's exchanges are foundational to the impact of the TC, but they don't hit as hard in Legion. And the book ending makes the resolution far more abrupt. Better in the 1st 1/2, but hitting less hard in the 2nd 1/2 makes me want to give it basically the same rating as the TC, despite Legion being a less-traditional "demon" possession film. If The Exorcist is 10 out of 10 Croms, then I'd give both the Theatrical and Legion cuts of Exorcist III: 8 out of 10 Croms. Both are worth watching, as they tell slightly different stories. IMHO, Legion would have been a better film with more of Dourif's TC dialogue left in, even if it didn't serve the story it was telling.
Hubband and I watched The Exorcist 3 (skipped 2) tonight. It's kind of odd and experimental with the best parts being (imo) watching George C Scott and Brad Dourif go toe to toe. The studio mandated exorcism finale (which didn't happen in the book) kind of knocked the momentum from the end. That being said, I think the dialogue is some of the best I've seen in a while. Would recommend seeing at least once if you're a fan of Scott or Dourif or both, but it's not a must see by general audiences. Heard the Legion cut is better?

Can confirm. Patience and tolerance can get all the exercise they want. But rage gets shit done.
That's not true. Some Gen X people have feelings. Occasionally I feel hungry. I often feel a lot of back pain. 😉👍

Bless you, #JaqueBlack. Your ancestors, who in ages past stood against the very same evils, smile down upon you this day. Respect.
This guy embodies one of the most popular archetypes used to bully white men throughout the world. Yet after being attacked, he gets back up, stands his ground, and faces his attackers to defend whatever remains of his store. His attackers, meanwhile, behave like a pack of hyenas. Whatever bravery they have is only because of their numbers and their de facto anonymity — police wouldn’t arrest them anyway. So, the guy who looks like the punchline of a thousand jokes actually displays more honor in a single moment than literally the entire recorded history of his attackers. He has no crowd to hide behind, no numerical advantage, and seemingly very little left to protect. What has happened to him will either be ignored or excused as having been caused by some kind of socio-economic problem which is ultimately his fault anyway. Nevertheless, he stands there. I would take one thousand Jacques Blacks before taking a single refugee.

As someone who was an adult prior to the end of the cold war, living with the very real possibility that I'd wake up dead some morning due to nuclear war, I can state unequivocally that, faced with that choice, I'd choose to kill the paedophile and let the world burn. Unless letting him save the world and then killing him was an option.

I read this trilogy back in the 90s, in the course of one summer. Dad took us to the local library and I usually picked fantasy and scifi books. Willow winds up having make a deal with a demon and commit an act of necromancy to get out of prison. It's wild.

So today I told a friend: "Damn, man, a few days ago the best of the classic Spanish illustrators passed away." "Oh no, Luis Royo! May he rest in peace." "No, no, don't worry, Royo is doing PERFECTLY fine." Sanjulian reminds me of Jeff Easley, but more classic, more academic.
