Had a great conversation with former @NortheastCCMS standout and @FCDallas draft pick @nedouard22 about his time in Norfolk. His jersey hangs retired in Hawks’ coach Adam Potter’s office. Just one of the many nods to what Nys meant to the program.

If you’re interested in Darold’s story I suggest checking out this post from Katie Schneider, who does a lot better job at telling his story than I ever could.

There hasn’t been one person who has contributed more to the success of St. Mary’s football than Darold Schneider. On Friday, the Cardinals will play their first playoff game without him in more than 40 years.

Congratulations to Oakland-Craig FRESHMAN QB Trey Sluyter for surpassing the 1000 yard mark passing and rushing in the Knights 60-24 win over Bancroft-Rosalie. First 8-Man player in history to achieve this incredible milestone. 1,197 Passing/16 TDs, 1,073 Rushing with 18 TDs.
Stuart is the only Northeast Nebraska 6-man team to make it, but an undefeated season lands it the No. 1 overall seed.
The Broncos will play just their seventh game of the season following two forfeit wins.

CLASS D2
Couple of interesting matchups here.
Howells-Dodge lost to East Butler earlier this season.
And a Creighton, LCC rematch could be in line for Round 2. The Bears won the first matchup although the Bulldogs are an entirely different team.

CLASS D1
Despite the loss, Ponca gets into the postseason in its first season since moving down to 8-man.
One thing that worked out nicely is Crofton and Sandy Creek are on opposite sides of the bracket.

CLASS C2
No. 3 Cedar Catholic, No. 6 Boone Central and No. 15 West Point-Beemer representing Northeast Nebraska in the state tournament.
The Cadets started 0-2 this season, but were able to do just enough to sneak into the postseason.

CLASS C1
O’Neill rebounded nicely after an 0-2 start, grabbing the No. 12 seed and will face No. 5 Syracuse.
No. 4 Pierce was able to clinch home field through at least the second round and will face No. 13 Cozad first.

CLASS D3
St. Mary’s does sneak into the playoffs. It’s wild how much had to go right and did.
No. 3 Archangels Catholic, No. 5 Wausa, No. 9 Wynot, No. 13 GACC among Northeast Nebraska teams eyeing a run to Kearney.

Thirty-seven seconds after Oliver Belina put Howells-Dodge ahead 24-12 with just 5 minutes to play, Paxton Hoeppner found Drey Puppe streaking down the sideline to breathe the life LCC needed to make one final push at the district title.
