🇬🇧🌾 BRITISH FOOD BRINGS US TOGETHER ❤️
What happens when you bring a farmer, a pop-up farm shop, a chef and the local community together?
Great British food, delicious tasters, conversations, connections — and a little fundraising for @TeenageCancer Trust along the way! ❤️
A huge thank you to Lydiard Turkeys & Pop-up Farm Shop and chef @RobCass3 for bringing people together to celebrate British produce on the final weekend of our 25th anniversary British Food Fortnight.
Food is never JUST food. It connects us to our farmers, our communities and the people who grow, rear, cook and share what we eat.
What a lovely way to celebrate #BritishFoodFortnight! 🇬🇧🍽️
25 years. One shared love of British food.

WONKY VEG IS STILL VEG 🥕❤️
When did we decide that a carrot has to be perfectly straight to be worth eating? 👇
A crooked carrot is still a carrot
An oddly shaped potato is still a potato
A slightly misshapen parsnip can taste just as good as a perfect-looking one
Nature doesn't grow vegetables to supermarket beauty standards
Farmers spend months growing food
Rain, frost, drought, pests, unpredictable weather
And after all that, perfectly edible produce can be rejected simply because it doesn't look quite right
We've become so obsessed with appearances that we sometimes forget what food is actually for
Food is for eating. Not for winning beauty contests 🥕🚜
Who's happy to buy wonky veg?

I’m not going to agree with Andy Burnham on everything, but this statement needed to be said by a Prime Minister. After the Conservatives suppressed the truth for years, this took courage.
