This ad is vile. One thing that's so despicable about far-left hatred of Israel is how quickly they just glide past the fact that Israel was subject to horrific terrorist violence. One does not have to agree with all Israeli policies (I certainly don't) to know that this is a grotesque caricature.
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad: Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German. Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to ā€œdefeat MAGAā€? Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

As Democrats, we are right to speak out when Republicans spread hateful rhetoric. We have the same responsibility when it comes from our own side. Hasan Piker’s record of hateful rhetoric is clear. Senator Omar Fateh and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should not lend him their platform. My full statement:

As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard. Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake. I am disappointed that Minnesota DFLers are hosting an event with him here.

Replying to @BBCWorld
@BBCWorld story about Macklemore/Ed Sheeran controversy today that ran on @MPR made it sound like the only way one can be "political" is to be pro-Palestinian. The implication was if one didn't speak out that way, one was a sellout and not willing to speak out about anything

Gee - I wonder if maybe some people don't speak out that way because THEY DON'T AGREE with the pro-Palestinian narrative? Or is that NOT ALLOWED in the world of BBC World radio coverage? Such an obviously biased and disgusting take from a highly compromised source these days
39
Oh, is it hard for Macklemore, being ā€œcanceledā€ and all for being pro-Palestinian (by the way, he also is an antisemite, as any honest person who has seen his Jewish ā€œcostumeā€ from a few years back would have to admit)? Yeah, try being a pro-Israel musician these days. Trust me

Cry me a f*cking river, Macklemore. I also have a doozy of a last name for a musician in 2026. Damn proud of it, would never and will never change it, but it certainly isn’t ā€œcareer-enhancing,ā€ that’s for damn sure

On the subject of @macklemore it's important to note that slogans such as 'Free Palestine' offer the appearance of moral courage without requiring much political knowledge. @edsheeran clearly has no spine and as for @Palomafaith and her stupid virtuous squealing of delight about Mackle-bore when she is about as political as a soggy tuna sandwich. The whole thing makes me queasy. Good on @Pink for speaking out and hopefully at some point @edsheeran will address this issue.

Imagine getting your opinions on what is anti-Semitism and whether anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism (it is, by the way) from such a renowned expert on such issues as @EllenBarkin - who uses the opinion of @MarkRuffalo to "bolster" her reasoning-free argument. Total weak sauce...

Heard a report on the Middle East on @BBCWorld today that was disgustingly biased against Israel - yes, they do some bad things, like all countries. But the BBC always goes out of its way to emphasize the bad things Israel does and de-emphasize the bad things Israel's enemies do

I'm not even sure @BBC & @BBCWorld & @npr & other media outlets are fully aware of how biased they are against anything to do w/Israel. But it comes thru in almost every report on the region. If it's about Israel, it's said w/contempt; if it's about the Arabs, it's sympathetic
40
Heard a report today on @NPR about how Israel is keeping some Palestinian comedians and others from coming into Israel b/c it deems them "anti-Israel". Do I like that? No, not really - but I wonder, how many Jewish comedians are allowed into Arab countries? I'm guessing none

it's the derisive tone of @NPR and @bbc and @bbcworld towards anything to do w/Israel that so many of us (Jews & non-Jews alike, who believe Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state - I'm not a Netanyahu fan, btw) notice time after time. It's such obviously hostile coverage
35
That's the thing w/coverage like this, it never looks at the reality, the big picture. Israel is far from perfect, but if u send journalists over to cover the bad things it does, they can report mostly freely. Nobody lets journalists in 2 see the awful shit done in Arab nations

She figured it out on her own, no thanks to your shit company
