All this talk about drug addicts "choosing" to use or being powerless addicts amazes me.
I've been a junkie and a drunk at various times in my life, but one thing I have never done is use drugs or drink involuntarily.
I've made lots of poor choices, but they were CHOICES.
How humiliating and pathetic must life be for people who tell themselves that they are too weak to even act on their own desires.
I care about sustainability, that's why I have a reusable ivory straw. It's not cheap, but I think it is worth it.
I once saw 2 Down's Syndrome guys in a supermarket and one guy dropped an armful of groceries on the floor. The other guy looked at him and said "You fucking retard!" I almost pissed myself laughing, as did they. The other shoppers gave me dirty looks...

The rioters in France are doing this because it is FUN, and there will be few consequences. I've been young, stupid and full of violent enthusiasm. It's not difficult to understand. You need to take the fun out of it with serious and immediate consequences.

I'm 60 today. 2 more years for social security, 6 more years for my Irish pension, I mop floors for a living, but I have rental and passive income plus a paid off house in Ireland. I'm seriously thinking about buying a blue water sailboat and pissing off.
I just watched High Plains Drifter today. In the first 30 minutes he explicitly rapes one woman, and towards the middle he kind of rapes another. He's the hero of the movie. Somehow, it has more realistic nuance than all the reporting about Cornell University.
