Looking forward to meeting with and speaking to Oxford Photo Society Tuesday, 9th Sep!
I’ll be giving my talk ‘photography through the seasons’ and entry for non members is from 19:30 at Silver band hall, OX4 2FA. £5 entry.
Hope to see lots of you there!
Had a great morning recently photographing a showy water rail in the col conditions - not usually easy and still quite frantic even when showing well! @Natures_Voice @WildlifeMag @BBCEarth @BBCSpringwatch
As always I'm behind with my editing but here's a little set of sand lizards, take back at the end of May - what stunning creatures the males are at that time of year!

@WildlifeMag
I'm so behind on editing so these aren't exactly fresh out of the camera! Taken back in march in the FoD - what a magical experience spending time with a sow and her litter of humbugs!
Spring so far! What a great time of year it is... although the car read 2C this morning! @BBCEarth @BBCSpringwatch @WildlifeMag
I'm really happy to have 3 photos feature in the @BWPAwards book this year - it was great seeing all the awarded photos in Bristol this week and congratulations to the winner(s)! Lovely to put some faces to names and talk all things photographer too!
The lovely eider of Seahouses harbour! A joy to photograph and I have a few more to share another day.
The waxwing winter continues! Even with this many birds in the country it's tricky getting a good photo - you need the right berries, background and conditions. Wonderful seeing so many though - everyone should make the most of it :)
Norfolk's waders never disappoint! Even if they mainly walk to the right! @Natures_Voice @RSPBTitchwell
I’ve just seen 10+ waxwing flying lowish over Hitchin in the direction of this crudely drawn arrow! Worth checking berry bushes for anyone in that direction! @Hertsbirds
On holiday in st Ives, Cornwall, and caught a few nice migrant moths! My first of all three, loved the convolvulus hawk 😍
I recently spent a night in the @NorthYorkMoors photographing red grouse with @benandrewphotos amongst the beautiful purple heather (Ben looked lovely in the heather too!). Here's a small selection from the trip!
Had a fun wander round Fermyn Wood recently, although there's one fewer purple emperors thanks to an emperor dragonfly...
Wow… can’t imagine seeing this in Hitchin but I live in hope 😅
6:30 in the morning at the edge of a small village in central Italy
A man driving to work and a #wolf going about its predator business
For someone who was born when wolves were persecuted and near extinct in Italy…this is AMAZING!
And bringing so much hope for coexistence!
Congratulations to all the @BWPAwards winners this yeah - some fantastic shots in the mix. I was really happy to have 3 highly commended images this year.
Unfortunately I couldn’t make the awards because of a work trip but will certainly be visiting the touring exhibition!
