A queen bee and a worker bee have identical DNA.
Literally the same genes.
But one lives 45 days. The other lives 7 years and rules 80,000 bees.
The difference? What they're fed for 5 days.
Here's the process that will blow your mind (and why it's relevant to humans): ๐งต

๐จATTRACTORS UPDATE!
โจAfter placing our 34 bee-attractors in different sites of the jungle, we did our first monitoring to see if they have already been inhabitedโฆ
๐บ๏ธ Following the strategy guided by our local allies and biologists, the attractors needed to be set before flowering season.
๐ธ Jungle pollinators become the most active during flowering season, leading to potential colony divisions and a massive bee-traffic all around.
Flowering season has started and we have collected some interesting data:
๐ 4 Attractors are already inhabited by Euglossa viridissima, a semi-eusocial bee native to Central America that is easily recognized by its vibrant metallic blue-green coloration. Also the key pollinator of vanilla orchids in the wild.
๐ 4 Attractors have their entrance very clean which means that they are in the process of being inhabited by bees. We still dont identify the species but this is GREAT news!
๐ 7 Attractors are inhabited by ants. According to our local ally, this could be part of the process of discovery of the attractor, which could lead to some bee specie inhabiting the attractor in the future. We will wait on these ones and keep monitoring.
๐ 18 Attractors are still empty with no traces of any specie around. The explanation on why we have so many empty attractors remains uncertain but we know that there are still left 2 more months of flowering before rains begin. We are optimistic.
๐ 1 Attractor got lost/eaten/stolen. It was just not found on the coordinates where it was placed.
๐ง๏ธ As said, flowering season will last for aprox two more months, so the final reporting will be around June, where we will update our database and apply changes to our strategy (if needed) based on feedback and experience for the next flowering season.
๐ด We want to ensure that stingless-bee biodiversity on tropical rainforests remains thriving, the health of the jungle mainly depends on the health of its pollinators.

In this edition, we intend to explore:
- The Regenaissance & its core concepts
- Challenges & obstacles in the shift from extractive to regenerative systems
- The role of ReFi in the Regenaissance
- Cultural & social considerations in the Regenaissance
- Mindset shifts needed for the successful adoption of a regenerative living pattern

Daniel Mihai (@DanielofAnu) and Sharon Gal-Or recently published ๐น๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: ๐จ ๐ช๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐, a book that addresses the polycrisis and presents bold ideas for a regenerative future.
Offering a unique perspective on regeneration beyond ReFi, we decided to review the book.
In this week's edition of the CARBON Copy newsletter, we explore key insights from the review, examining how regenerative economies and governance can drive meaningful change outside the ReFi space.

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐: ๐ด ๐ถ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐ ๐ป๐๐๐ by @DanielofAnu of @ief_wiki and Sharon Gal-Or.
@DanielofAnu describes Regenaissance as a book that tackles the polycrisis while presenting bold ideas and a vision for a regenerative future.
My reviewโa 2,000-word essayโcritiques key themes in the book, including politics and regeneration, regenerative living systems, and urban regeneration.
I also expand on the authorsโ insights into cultural clashes in regenerative economies and explore redundancy and resilience within them.
This book takes us beyond the ReFi bubble, showing what regeneration might look like in real-world communities.
I invite you to read my review and share your innovations on the foundation Daniel and Sharon have built. Let's co-create a regenerative future! ๐

This article, based on the research of @DanielofAnu, gives a great overview of the challenges & opportunities for nonprofits in crypto philanthropy ๐ธ
coindesk.com/opinion/2024/07โฆ
An important takeaway: there is still a long way to go in building accessible UI/UX that helps nonprofits navigate the complexities of Web3:
"Philanthropic organizations complained that blockchain tools, especially those that go beyond payments, are simply not fit for purpose and adoption was difficult to implement and sustain...They rarely have the budget to invest in complex new skills to add new technology"
That being said, great progress has been made, and the future of crypto philanthropy is bright! ๐
