The problem we are taking on at the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon
Think back to the last exam you failed.
You probably remember the mark. You may still remember how it felt. But do you remember anyone showing you exactly where your thinking went wrong, and then helping you fix it in a way you could use it in real world environment?
For most of us, the answer is no.
This is a problem we have learned to live with for generations:
→ A student sits an exam and waits days, sometimes weeks, for the result.
→ When it comes back, it says what was wrong, almost never why.
→ A teacher spends evenings marking exams, with little time left to help the students who need it most.
→ Sometimes the answer is right but the thinking behind it is wrong, and nobody notices
→ And a failed question is treated as the end of the story: a verdict on what you can not do.
That last one stays with people. Many adults still carry a failed exam as proof they “aren’t a maths person” or “aren’t smart enough”. Not because they could not learn it, but because nobody ever turned that mistake into the next thing they mastered.
We believe a failed question should not be a verdict. It should be the start of real capability.
That’s what we are building at LoWisa.dev during this hackathon: a way for every mistake on a paper to become a student’s next real step forward, with the teacher in charge from start to finish.
We will share how it works as we build it, including what breaks along the way.
