The MLC election in varanasi is normal. Even in last cycle SP had won both the seats.

Fact is in Uttar Pradesh MLC -: BJP lost those seats which they never had even in 2020 cycle.

Mixed results have come in the elections held for 28 MLC posts in UP, Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
It is, however, surprising that Congress lost all the four seats it contested in Karnataka. After Siddaramaiah was replaced by D. K. Shivakumar as Chief Minister, this was the first electoral test for the new CM. He failed.
In the other three states too, Congress scored a blank. One point to note: these MLC elections were held with ballot papers and not electronic voting machines (EVMs). Yet, Congress failed to win a single seat.
It shows that the problem lies not with EVMs or electoral lists, but with the party. Normally, MLC elections do not get headlines in newspapers because the electorate is limited to either graduates or teachers. The results can only indicate which party the educated class is supporting.
In the case of UP, it is different. Assembly elections are due next year and the BJP and Samajwadi Party had put in lot of efforts in the MLC elections. Those who won in UP can claim that the results indicate the trend for assembly elections, while those who lost in UP, can blame the Election Commission for perceived irregularities.
The results from UP clearly indicate, the assembly poll battle is going to be a cliffhanger. In Bihar, too, the contest was interesting because it was a test for Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party. Prashant Kishor won the Bankipur assembly byelection in July this year.
The seat was vacated by BJP President Nitin Nabin. If Jan Suraj Party wins a seat or two, it can say that it has arrived in Bihar’s electoral politics. MLC elections were held in Maharashtra, but there were no clashes or allegations of irregularities. The results came as expected

Yes many Tribals in Odisha are Christians today. But just think, why would they BECOME Christians? What must be the circumstances that made them Christians? - The Odisha govt and Indian govt didn't care for them (Rayagada, Kalahandi were the poorest region in the entire country! As an Odia I remember the embarrassment the so called national media would put me through always talking about poverty. Odisha meant poverty for them and they always showed tribals) Malnourished, pot bellied children with ribs visible , high childhood mortality was the norm in those regions.. forget living a life even basic facilities weren't there- So just imagine their helplessness! Missionaries saw this lack and provided them food, water, housing, education in the name of Jesus. And why wouldn't they accept the God whose name gave them all this - it gave them health, dignity, education, a life. The missionaries did what the govt couldn't and still is unable to! Why wouldn't they worship that God?
Before calling Dr Sequeira a Converter please look at the work of Dr Sequeira since 2017 - he has been conducting so many health camps for tribal people outside of his work hours and has helped them so much. Laxman Naik, the kondh activist has been put behind bars as well. The plan was to keep tribals of Odisha illiterate and poor so that they could be exploited.
