Academic excellence may open doors, but intentionality helps you find the right opportunities.
A first-class degree is an achievement, but it is not a guarantee of a fully funded scholarship. What often makes the difference is knowing how to turn academic strengths into a compelling application.
For research-based programmes, this means going beyond searching for available scholarships. Explore professors' research interests, understand their work, identify areas of alignment, and build a clear connection between their research and your own academic goals.
A strong application should communicate more than good grades. It should reflect curiosity, purpose, preparation, and a clear sense of direction.
Young people deserve access to the knowledge that helps them see possibilities, make informed choices, and pursue opportunities beyond familiar boundaries. This is the kind of empowerment the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation stands for.
Your grades may introduce you, but your preparation, purpose, and intentionality can set your application apart.

I am profoundly saddened and deeply disturbed by reports of violence directed at members and coordinators of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Obidient Movement in Delta State.
I unequivocally condemn the attacks against our coordinators, supporters, and fellow citizens who were merely exercising their democratic rights. Political violence has no place in a democracy and can never be justified. No political aspiration is worth the life of a Nigerian, and no dispute should be resolved through intimidation, physical attacks, or the destruction of property.
It is particularly troubling that, at a time when Nigeria urgently needs responsible leadership, some individuals continue to believe that political influence can be secured through thuggery, fear, and violence. Political authority should be attained through persuasion and the trust of the people, not by intimidating opponents.
I urge the Government and the security agencies to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into these attacks, identify those responsible, and ensure that they face justice, irrespective of their political affiliations. The safety and security of our members must be assured.
We will not be intimidated or silenced, nor will we relinquish our democratic space to violence. Our response will remain peaceful, lawful, and determined.
Nigeria belongs to every one of us. No political party or individual has exclusive ownership of the democratic space. Every Nigerian is entitled to organise, gather, express their views, and freely elect their leaders. Our nation needs constructive ideas rather than intimidation, responsible leadership rather than thuggery, and democratic contest rather than political violence.
I stand in solidarity with everyone affected in Delta State. A New Nigeria must be founded on justice, liberty, peace, and respect for the dignity of every citizen.
May God bless Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. -PO

My undergraduate lecturer and also one of my recommenders was trying to refer a first class graduate of my department to me. Suprisingly, the student mentioned that we were already in touch and how social media made that possible.
Thank God for X that connected me with @olumuyiwaayo and @AskMichaelTaiwo .
A big thank you to LinkedIn for also connecting me to @i_amTeefeh.

Hey @grok DID CANCELO REALLY SAY THIS
🚨 João Cancelo on why didn’t all Portugal players didn’t celebrate Ronaldo’s retirement the way Argentina celebrated Messi’s retirement:
🗣️ João Cancelo: “Honestly, I think people already know the answer. They just don’t want to accept it.
When Messi retired, I watched the entire Argentina squad come together to celebrate him.
Players were posting pictures, writing emotional messages and showing the world how much they loved and respected him.
But when Cristiano announced his retirement, suddenly everybody expected Portugal players to behave the same way.
Why?
I personally don’t understand it.
And let me say something that will probably make Ronaldo fans angry.
I don’t think Cristiano is the kind of person people should constantly be forced to celebrate.
Yes, he is one of the greatest footballers in history.
Yes, he has scored incredible goals and won important trophies for Portugal.
But football is bigger than individual achievements.
Sometimes I feel Cristiano’s ego is bigger than his understanding of what a team is supposed to represent.
Everything has to be about him.
His records.
His achievements.
His recognition.
His position as the greatest.
And honestly, that is something I have never liked.
Look at Messi.
He doesn’t need everybody around him to constantly remind the world that he is special.
He doesn’t need to be the centre of every conversation.
He plays football, respects his teammates and allows people to appreciate him naturally.
That’s the difference.
People should stop comparing the way Argentina celebrated Messi to the way Portugal reacted to Ronaldo.
You cannot force genuine affection.
And just because somebody has given everything to a national team doesn’t mean every player must have the same personal relationship with him.
Ronaldo fans can insult me if they want.
They can call me jealous.
They can say I don’t respect Portuguese history.
But I won’t pretend that I see Cristiano the same way they do.
Being Portugal’s greatest player doesn’t automatically make you Portugal’s greatest teammate.
And I think that’s something his fans will never understand.”
GOOD DAY, MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY
Good day, Mr President.
I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office.
I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target.
Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world.
Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government.
The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

🚀 Ekiti, get ready! We are bringing digital opportunities closer to our young people.
Next week, we are launching the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation Digital Tech Academy, an initiative designed to equip young people in Ekiti with digital skills, nurture their talents, and connect them to opportunities beyond geographical boundaries.
As we complement the @biodunaoyebanji
administration’s efforts in the creative economy, we believe young people should not just consume technology. They should have the skills and opportunities to create, innovate, and participate in the global digital economy.
At the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation, expanding access and creating opportunities have always been at the heart of our work. This is another step towards making that possible.
If you are from Ekiti, this is for you.
Your next big opportunity could start here.
Stay tuned! The future is digital, and Ekiti’s young people must not be left behind.

PALMER MAY NEVER PLAY FOR ENGLAND AGAIN AS LONG AS TUCHEL REMAINS IN CHARGE 😳💔
Palmer is fit, scoring and contributing for Chelsea, yet he’s been left out again.
Tuchel says he has missed too many opportunities to impress and insists players who showed up for England deserve to keep their places.
I believe tuchel is just flexing his power as the head coach but Palmer deserves better ✌️

Sending you strength to carry on in this tough times 🫶🏽
Nobody owes you or me anything. That being hopeful that someone will help you or come through for you today is exactly what has kept many people where they are today without growth. It might happen and it might not as life isn’t fair.
I am not saying that you won’t find help in the appropriate time but remember that you have to be prepared mentally, physically, value-packed and also ready when the opportunity comes knocking.
Most of you have allowed the current situation to kill the fighting spirit in you. You will never grow if you don’t fight back and take back control of that.
Keep pushing, keep showing up even when you don’t feel like it, start somewhere no matter how small.
