For those who, like me, have been away from beer twitter this summer. Catching up with a limerick: There was talk of a seltzer called White Claw, It seemed to threaten brewers big & small. Platform was bought, CBA was not, And August Oktoberfest releases signaled an early fall.

'Twas the morning of #IPADay, when all through the house INSATIABLE ANIMALS were stirring, foaming at the mouth. Their Plineys and Headys stocked the fridge with great care Knowing that whalez would be slayed with none to spare.

I don't understand how when you look at Mexican lager brands you see well designed esthetics with a regal touch. BUT WHEN CRAFT MAKES A MEXICAN LAGER IT LOOKS LIKE SPEEDY GONZALEZ AT LEBRON'S HOUSE FOR TACO TUESDAY

Rockets lost, but @PinthousePizza got some nice camera time.
Big thanks to Kristen @OdellBrewing and Emily @funkwerks for organizing the mktg & design happy hour last night. Good conversation & learned a lot - definitely a highlight of my week in Denver. #CBC2019

Ever since mentioning #CBC2019, Twitter is serving me ads for Excedrin. Coincidence?

Now boarding IND to DEN for #CBC2019. Can't wait!

'Independent/Local' is starting to feel like 'Tastes great/Less filling.' But being perceived as local really does move the needle. Consumers give local beer brands significantly higher ratings for quality & innovation. More details: bit.ly/2BIwtqX

My contributions to this were limited to a u-shaped bar & pretzels with crazy good mustard. Pretty sure those ideas harken back to 30030. @brickstorepub

Having trouble moving your Jalapeno Infused Brut IPA at lunchtime? Per market research firm @BurkeInc: 'consumers’ desire to seek variety in their product and flavor preferences increases as the day wears on.'

Interestingly, they also found that 'variety-seeking is more pronounced in summer months.' While focused on CPG, it's is a timely read for beer marketers during #flagshipfebruary: quirks.com/articles/understa…

Pessimist or realist? Compared to LA beer drinkers, Boston area consumers are 50% more likely to expect the number of breweries to decline in 2019. #sblii bit.ly/2DNvMLJ
Forget about Brady & Goff, what are the differences between beer drinkers in LA & New England? bit.ly/2DNvMLJ

Q3 2018 DataQuencher Beer Consumer results further back up @BrewersStats conclusions. Where permitted, we asked consumers how their total alcohol spending had changed since cannabis legalization. 16% reported spending more, 14% spending less. Pretty much a wash at this point.
I continue to get questions about cannabis & beer sales, so here's an updated analysis. The tl;dr: 1. I don't see any change in beer trends, or worse trends in states with rec. sales. 2. There are lots of things other than just sales to think about. brewersassociation.org/insig…

Some context: Mich Ultra consumers are 50% more likely to identify as conservtive than liberal.
Taste preference or savvy politics? Our @DataQuencher 2018 Beer Consumer Survey shows Mich Ultra customers lean conservative more than any other major brand. Bold strategy by @SenWarren reaching across the aisle this early in the process.
“O Tannenpalm speaks from the same voice and fits within everything else Corona is doing." Agree, and pulling that off is much more difficult than one might think. Wise words from @mkallenberger and nice storytelling from @BryanDRoth.

In addition to @brizoseltzer I missed another new hard seltzer - this one closer to home. @BraxtonBrewCo announced a new line (Vive) this AM with some spot-on packaging.
Lots of hard seltzer news these days (@oskarblues, @PerrinBrewing, & @PlatformBeers to name a few). Our research shows about 20% of craft beer consumers are also drinking hard seltzers. Here's how they differ from other beer drinkers: bit.ly/2Ccz4rc
