Walk with me on a thread of why Mahamaโs legacy is comparable to Kwame Nkrumahโs, if not better.
A Thread: ๐๐พ
1/ For context.
Nkrumah inherited a Ghana with substantial reserves, established infrastructure, the worldโs leading cocoa position and foreign reserves equivalent to about 3 years of imports. Ghana entered independence with roughly US$481m in reserves. (IMF eLibrary)
And Nkrumah did something remarkable with that foundation. He built and we honored and love him for that.
Mahama inherited the opposite

Rapperholic is bigger than a concert!
It stimulates economic activity across Kumasi, Accra and the wider Ghanaian economy through tourism, hospitality, transportation, food, fashion, media, advertising, employment and the creative supply chain.
The economic value of this concert extends far beyond ticket sales. It includes visitor spending, revenue for local businesses, temporary jobs created, suppliers paid and the future tourism and commercial opportunities generated by the event.
To the government and private sector, the opportunity is to build an ecosystem where Ghanaian entertainment generates measurable economic value, supports businesses, creates jobs and attracts visitors.
Letโs invest in our creative economy. The potential goes far beyond the stage. ๐ฌ๐ญ
