But I was accused of being Islamophobic when I explained Islam’s disdain for dogs on @joerogan’s show several years ago…
It's shocking how dangerous a low IQ can be. It doesn't even need to be incredibly low. Anything in the 80s is potentially quite dangerous. Just my opinion.
On March 1, 2006, a 16-year-old told two detectives he helped his uncle rape and kill a woman. Then, on a break, he asked if he could get back to school in time for a project.
Teresa Halbach was 25, a photographer. On October 31, 2005 she drove to Avery's Auto Salvage in Wisconsin and never came back. Her burned remains were found in a pit on the property. It belonged to the family of Steven Avery, who had already served 18 years for a rape he didn't commit.
Detectives pulled his nephew Brendan Dassey out of high school. No lawyer, no parent in the room. The trial judge put his IQ in the "low average to borderline range."
They kept asking what else happened to her head. Finally one said, "Who shot her in the head?"
"He did."
"Then why didn't you tell us that?"
"Cuz I couldn't think of it."
In the video below he's on that break. "How long is this gonna take?" He wants to be back by 1:29. "I have a project due in sixth hour."
Then he's with his mother. He asks what happens if his uncle's story is different. "Did you?" she asks. "Not really." "They got to my head."
He got life in 2007, with parole eligibility in 2048. In 2016 a federal judge ruled the confession involuntary. In 2017 the full appeals court reinstated it 4 to 3, and the Supreme Court declined to hear the case. He is still in prison.
Was it a confession, or did two detectives write it for him?

I hate to be this cynical, but I’ll be honest…running for Mayor exposes you to things that make you believe the city is actually being overtaken by demonic energy. Drive south Fig at night. Go to 6th and San Pedro. You see children openly prostituting, drug zombies setting dogs and cats on fire, babies born to crackheads and tossed in a dumpster, dead people just lying in the streets…that’s not even to mention the dozen neighbors of ours who burned alive in what is now a crumbled hellscape.
Many times I wondered if the city’s problems weren’t beyond the reach of any politician’s capacity to actually fix. There is a cultural and spiritual rot that can’t be fixed at the ballot box. Until we fix the culture, we are kinda just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and the shit we shovel around every 4 years doesn’t really mean a thing.
I am not kidding about the demons in LA btw.
My best friend works at McDonald’s and some dude tried getting her to be his sugar baby while she was handing him his order in the drive thru.
My other friend was on a film set and one of the actors tried getting him to be in her p0rno outta nowhere while he was helping her down a hill.
And I was acting in a film where I learned one of the stuntmen was invited to this house and they were trying to get him into a cult while doing a bunch of demonic rituals.
Bunch of unclothed men in bed. No clothes at all. He immediately left.
Not to mention I’ve been followed and attacked by drug addicts. I know people who were almost killed.
DONT COME TO LA. DONT DO IT.

She quite obviously dodged a major bullet with this absolute pig....which includes you for thinking the only thing wrong was his harshness.
I got news for you and him, he wasn't looking intimacy....he was looking to get laid in payment for buying dinner. He doesn't want a girlfriend, he wants a prostitute.

One of my besties from HS did three years in the Peace Corps in Guinea. She is very type A. For three years she drew up business plans, (tried to teach) taught classes on how to make sellable, sustainable products that would absolutely lift families out of poverty and generate generational wealth. People didn’t show up, materials disappeared, equipment disappeared, there was general apathy and boredom while she was absolutely busting her ass. When she came home she seemed incredibly depressed and had a hard time re-acclimating. She made excuses “it’s the culture” “it’s not how they do things”. She made excuses for how the people she was trying to help basically shit on her efforts. To this day I don’t think wild horses could drag it out of her but I KNOW deep down she knows she wasted three years of her life and made ZERO difference to her village.
My uncle did a mission trip to Africa to teach a village how to raise pigs for food.
They flew in with a bunch of pigs, built pens for them, Food and water troughs, and taught them how to breed them so they could always have meat. Two weeks of work and teaching.
They went back a year later to check on the village. They had thrown a giant party the night after my uncle left, slaughtered and ate all the pigs, sold the feeders and fencing, and were really pissed off that the mission didn't bring them more pigs.

I know all too well what happens when religion is weaponized to control women. We must not normalize it.
A WIRED report finds the "Muslim manosphere" going mainstream: influencers invoking Allah's authority to tell women how to dress, behave, and speak, and followers bombarding women's inboxes with unsolicited messages.
@Ayaan on what happens when male resentment finds religious authority:

It's bananas that an American mayor is boasting about giving mortgages to people with subpar credit for homes they can’t actually afford. As if 2008 never happened. The beauty of history is that you can learn from it.
How far left tenant “protections” work in practice:
My next door landlord cannot evict his violent sociopath tenant who stopped paying rent long ago because it’ll take too long and her son threatened to kill him and his children if he tried
I hope this ruling goes national
wild ruling out of Seattle that @PHLCouncil needs to read. a builder put $39M into 254 low-income apartments locked at 60% AMI for 30 years. from 2015 to 2018 it worked, collecting ~94% of rent.
then Seattle stacked on "tenant protections": banned criminal background checks, banned winter evictions, required 180 days notice for rent hikes + 3 months relocation pay, and forced the owner to let unscreened roommates move in and take over leases.
result: rent collections dropped from 93.9% to 44.1%!!! the building lost nearly $6M through 2023 ($2.7M in 2023 alone) and is now appraised as functionally worthless. the city bankrupted actual affordable housing lol.
the appeals court just ruled the owner can sue Seattle for an unconstitutional taking. when you strip a landlord's right to screen, collect rent or remove non-paying tenants, it's not "regulation" anymore, you took the building…. Philly has half these laws already 🙄 courts.wa.gov/opinions/pdf/8…

It says something about how unresponsive to public pressure these entrenched politicians are that StLouis icon Charlie Brennan has harped on this item for years and none of them have lifted a finger.

Beautiful BMWx4 in downtown.
It just occurred to me that if we collected all the unpaid sales and property taxes from these unregistered cars we might not have to ask for tax increases to pay for day care and senior services.

Arsenal just lost to Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup.
Arsenal’s roster: $1.5 BILLION
Fleetwood Town’s roster: $3 million
Fleetwood is currently 18th in the 4th level of English soccer.
Possibly the biggest upset in English soccer history.

I don’t need to imagine, she is describing 2006
.@PhillyMayor Cherelle Parker tells @EmilyRPeck that the city hopes to launch its historic mortgage program “before the end of 2026.”
“Imagine getting a mortgage, a 30-year commitment, with no PMI,” Parker said, and accessible “with less-than-perfect credit.” #AxiosLive

Halloween from 1-2 is about your mom dressing you in cute outfits. From 2-12 it’s about candy. From 12-18 it’s about pranks. From 18-24 it’s about sex. From 24-30 it’s about watching spooky movies with your girl. Halloween in your 30s is about your kids. Halloween 40+ is about passing out candy.

This is why your social life has to include a lot of low-stakes, mixed-gender, mixed-age interactions. Including at least one older couple who can say to clueless men "she's into you, dummy, go for it" and to women "stop saying that, you're scaring the men off"

This is Nagasaki in 2026. Imagine if they spent the past 80 years wallowing in self-pity and blaming the US? It's incredible what you can accomplish when you decide to pick yourself up, move forward, and take responsibility for your own outcomes.

This collapse is happening in Portland, Seattle, and other cities. These places haven't recovered from the COVID era, which gave us lockdowns, the George Floyd riots, and the de facto legalization of drug-and-crime-generating homeless encampments. A policy disaster.
Portland’s Royal Sonesta: bought for $108.3M in 2016. Now reportedly sold for $6.83M for 220 rooms—just $31,000 per key. A staggering 93.7% price collapse.
This is what happens when government fails at public safety, downtown disorder spirals, Measure 110’s consequences go unaddressed, and Multnomah County’s mental-health system fails people in crisis.
Tourism doesn’t thrive where visitors feel unsafe and downtown businesses struggle to survive.
Portland didn’t get here by accident. Policy choices have consequences—and taxpayers, workers, businesses, and property owners are paying the price.

A reminder that our dysfunctional system which is unable to produce sufficient housing is actually a microcosm of democratic socialism because it gives the community veto power over how prospective developers get to use their property.
I'm in my 40s. I'm a lawyer. My wife is a lawyer. We both work full time.
We cannot afford the house my parents purchased on a single electrician's income in their 30s.
We cannot afford the house my immigrant grandparents purchased on a single MTA bus driver's salary in their 30s. They had SIX CHILDREN.
For 30 years, politicians in Washington & their oligarch allies convinced regular people that this was just about avocado toast and fancy coffee.
In reality, this is end-stage capitalism. Everyone is stuck in place. It's impossible to buy a home. It's too costly to move. We work too much to have passion projects. We don't have enough savings to start our own businesses. We can't afford to go without healthcare to do it.
Thanks for writing this article @troy_closson. Would be very happy to discuss further.
