Great stat by Ed Conway: this Budget has a record high number of measures (98) but the average value of each scorecard measure is a record low. Lot of fiddling...

We got a furious response from the former Conservative minister Lord Michael Gove when we asked about his position on Israel at the Labour Conference.
Gove claimed he knew more about antisemitism than Zack Polanski, the only Jewish leader of a major political party in the UK. He also accused us of not being journalists and of an obsession with Israel, despite the Labour government's change in position on the occupation of Palestine being the key topic at this year's conference.
Gove now sits in the House of Lords and is editor of right-wing magazine The Spectator.

The original NBC David Letterman show was not a dumb silly show, not by a long shot!
Here is Truman Capote, who wrote In Cold Blood, discussing other serial killers, and why many of them will kill again.

In a similar vein, the data showing that Albanian nationals are hugely over-represented in British prisons ignores the fact that the Albanian population in Britain is heavily skewed toward drug dealers.
Replying to @MonkEmma
Which is ridiculous, as the overwhelming majority of sexual offences are committed by young men.
And Afghan populations in the UK are heavily skewed toward young men.
So you are not comparing a like-for-like population.

The volume of propaganda pumped out by the BBC—even, as we now know, unto the embedding of government staff inside the corporation—is gobsmacking in itself, but it also exposes the fatuousness of people who obsess about GBNews.

Nut job progressives seemingly dedicated their lives to making feel guilt for empire. The direct approach failed. But damn if they didn’t succeed by just doing their day jobs.

Honestly, no offence to London and whatnot, but the notion of Oxford Street as "the nation's high street" is one of the most ramshackle conceits I've encountered in some while, unless it's supposed to be some sort of grim metaphor, in which case, perhaps.
I just remembered that a shadow chancellor pulled out Mao’s Little Red Book at the dispatch box, quoted form it approvingly, then tossed it at the Chancellor. Feels like I dreamed it. But that actually happened, right?
So… watched Twins with the lad. Wife using hazy memory thought Running Man would be acceptable. So watched that. Then he told me he really likes Arnold. This is good. So we watched Kindergarten Cop. Question is, where to go next.
The lad is 7 now. I don’t want to watch Jingle. Only saw Last AH at the cinema and don’t want to watch that. Though that might be selfish. And never intend to watch the pregnant one.
