Important to note that this only works if it's real. This isn't a brochure and nobody at Huddersfield Town thinks they have cracked it. They are willing to open their doors for a season to try to explain how they do things and offer insight that fans rarely get. And I can't wait.

It's really cool and I have lots of ideas that I’m excited about, but also: is there anything you’ve wondered about life at a football club - how something works? What a particular role actually does? How certain decisions get made? How certain dynamics work? Don't be shy.

As part of my work this season, I'm also going to be embedded within an EFL club: Huddersfield Town. The plan: produce a series of features that offer insight into how daily life at a football club actually works - shadowing staff, behind-the-scenes access, telling stories.

I hope that, years from now, we look back on this post as a line in the sand moment for football.

The most incredible thing about Southampton and spygate is that, still, so much energy has gone into "err this is unfair" rather than apologising to fans, arranging refunds and going cap in hand to to beg them to stick with the club. They have torched their entire reputation.
