People of Ireland, part 4.
Many of you could not stop accusing me of genocide, cursing and insulting me, even though I am a Jew who lives in Europe.
Others tried to distinguish between "Jew" and "Zionist".
Robert Briscoe smuggled guns for Michael Collins and became Lord Mayor of Dublin. Rabbi Isaac Herzog was called "the Sinn Féin Rabbi". In their Ireland, "Zionist" was not a curse word.
Can you separate the right of Jews to a state from your criticism of Israel's government?
Answer argument with argument. Use your own mind.

People of Ireland, part 3.
Many of you told me: "We have nothing against Jews, only against Israel."
How can you be against genocide, and in the same breath wish death on another people?
And is this how you treat anyone else you disagree with?
I'm waiting for your answers. @MichealMartinTD @EJAssociation

Yesterday in Brussels, marchers chanted "Intifada." So I have one question for everyone marching against Israel in Europe's streets: if your problem is only with Israel, why do Jews in Europe feel so much less safe? Tell the truth. 👇 @EJAssociation

Six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust. Now their suffering is being weaponized to demonize the one Jewish state at pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Stockholm.
This is Holocaust distortion. This is a desecration of the victims’ memory. This is wrong on so many levels.

Varför flyttar SVT fokus mot Gaza på 7 oktober?
SVT borde ställa sig en enkel fråga: Varför fick offren för Hamas massaker inte stå i centrum ens på sin egen minnesdag? skriver jag i @kvartalet

October 7 evokes strong emotions. I too feel grief and anger at the suffering and slaughter of innocent people. But knocking down the EU and Israeli flags at our commemoration exhibition does nothing to ease that suffering.
We should come together to honour the victims and work to ensure such atrocities never happen again. Remembrance deserves respect.

Israeli passengers became heroes on flight FZ1073. Their courage, alongside Captain Smit Machchhar and the crew, helped avert disaster.
EJA is proud of their bravery and grateful to every hero who brought them home. 💙

No Jew should have to calculate whether being visibly Jewish makes them a target in a European city.
And perhaps it is time we stopped treating every antisemitic attack, threat and act of intimidation as an isolated incident.
Jewish communities across Europe are facing a wider and deeply troubling pattern of hostility. When calls to “Globalize the Intifada” are heard on our streets, we cannot ignore the fear and consequences such rhetoric can have for Jewish communities.
This is not just about individual incidents. It is about the ability of Jews to live openly, visibly and safely in Europe.
Statements are no longer enough.
We call on European governments and authorities to strengthen security around Jewish institutions, enforce laws against antisemitic hate and violence, and ensure that those who threaten or attack Jewish communities are held accountable.

Ahead of Sweden’s 2026 parliamentary election, the European Jewish Association (EJA) and the World Jewish Congress @WorldJewishCong (WJC) have launched a joint framework assessing all parliamentary parties on key issues affecting Jewish life in Sweden.
The framework focuses on security, antisemitism, freedom of religion, safety in public spaces, education, and Sweden’s role in Europe and internationally. Using the same criteria for every party, it provides voters and policymakers with a clear and objective basis for dialogue on protecting Jewish life, rights, and participation in Swedish society—both before and after the election.

If a terrorist organisation like Hamas were to congratulate us, we had ask what we had done wrong. We hope Prime Minister @Bart_DeWever asks himself the same question. When Hamas, a designated terror organisation, applauds the actions of a democratic government, something has gone seriously wrong with that government’s moral compass.

Member of the European Parliament, MP @lukasmandl spoke today during EIPA press day about the Abraham accord, strengthening cooperation with the UAE. He argued that the October 7, 2023 attack by Iranian proxies may have been linked to efforts to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the importance of the Arab Emirates in promoting regional stability and countering Iran’s influence. He also expressed hope that long-term cooperation could eventually lead to broader regional reconciliation.

Yesterday, EJA Secretary General @DavidLega David Lega delivered, together with @olga_deutsch Olga Deutsch of @NGOmonitor NGO Monitor, a lunch seminar at the Swedish Riksdag, hosted by Members of Parliament @FredrikMalm Fredrik Malm (L) and @MagnusBerntsson Magnus Berntsson (KD).
David’s focus was a question that matters more than ever for Jewish communities across Europe: should Jews be recognised as a minority with special protection needs.
Jews make up less than 0.2 percent of Europe’s population, yet face a disproportionate share of the continent’s hate and threats, a reality that has only sharpened since October 7. In Sweden, Jews are already one of five recognised national minorities. But recognition is not the same as protection. Protected status would mean security around synagogues and schools planned and funded by the state, not carried by the communities themselves, religious practices such as kosher slaughter and circumcision safeguarded in law, and Jewish history and the Holocaust given a clear place in the curriculum.
Olga Deutsch presented new findings on how Hamas has systematically exploited parts of the aid and NGO sector in Gaza, drawing on recently disclosed internal Hamas documents. The two issues are closely linked. Funds diverted through that infiltration help sustain the same networks, including Iran and its proxies, that carry out attacks on Jewish targets across Europe.
Our thanks to Olga Deutsch for her important work, to MPs Fredrik Malm and Magnus Berntsson for opening the doors of the Riksdag to this conversation, and to all the Members of Parliament who took the time to attend. We are also grateful to @aronverstandig Aron Verständig, Chairman of the Central Council of Jewish Communities in Sweden, @miffno MIFF (Med Israel För Fred), Keren Kajemet Sverige, and Vänskapsförbundet @SverigeIsrael Israel for joining us and bringing their insights.

If these reports are true, comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa is not only factually wrong, but also completely unacceptable for someone speaking on behalf of the EU.
At a time when Member States are questioning the direction and size of the EEAS, such remarks further undermine trust in Europe’s foreign policy apparatus.
