Defence Secretary @JohnHealey_MP representing the UK at magnificent ceremony in Washington to open the #NATO summit & celebrate 75 years of the most successful Alliance in history.

Always such a pleasure to host 🏳️‍🌈PROUD@NATO for Pride season. They are a fantastic group of public servants. Their diversity makes NATO stronger & that makes us all safer. And of course we had another gigantic 🏳️‍🌈cake.

Big news from PM Sunak today in Poland: increasing 🇬🇧defence spending to 2.5% of GDP; biggest ever 🇬🇧package of military support to Ukraine with long-term commitment to 🇺🇦; strengthening 🇬🇧leadership in NATO; & deepening 🇬🇧🇵🇱cooperation.

Foreign Secretary @David_Cameron viewing Article 5 in the original Washington Treaty, which is at @NATO HQ for the first time in 75 years for the anniversary celebration.

Allied & @NATO flags lining the Mall to Buckingham Palace in London today to mark the Alliance’s 75th anniversary. NATO is the bedrock of our security, allowing us to determine our own future & live freely by our values.

A great moment for #NATO as Sweden’s flag is raised at our HQ. NATO is bigger & stronger, Sweden is safer. A very warm welcome to our brilliant new Ally 🇸🇪!

Fantastic to host friends from Proud@NATO, who do such great work to strengthen our Alliance by making it more diverse & inclusive. We’re proud of everything they’re doing & celebrated with a giant 🏳️‍🌈🎂

Kicking off the Christmas season with our fantastic Brits at NATO. Thank you for all you do, working hard across the Alliance to keep one billion people safe. Some thunderous carol singing here.

Marking #ArmisticeDay with the Last Post & Nimrod at the Menin Gate (undergoing centenary renovation). A great way to honour 55,000 fallen - incl my great-grandfather, Gunner JH Yates - whose remains were never found. Thanks to the people of Ieper/Ypres for this tradition.

In Bulgaria with NATO’s North Atlantic Council to observe 🇮🇹-led battlegroup exercise & hear 🇧🇬views on key security challenges. Impressive display of Allied capabilities. 🇧🇬making vital contribution through NATO to Euro-Atlantic security.

Great 🇬🇧🇷🇴trip to Telavi in Kakheti region 🇬🇪for our pop-up NATO embassy. Inspiring to hear young Georgians’ determination to secure their freedom as part of the Euro-Atlantic family.

Good to be back in Tbilisi: supporting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic trajectory, encouraging necessary reforms & discussing NATO’s transformation.

Fantastic to host Brits @NATO summer party. We’re proud to be NATO’s second biggest Ally. Brits are contributing across the board to make it the world’s most successful defensive alliance. Thank you!
