13 hours my my new iPhone Duo, picked up at the Apple Store in Piazza Liberty In Milan as first people on the queue as every year, and here is my whole day impression: - if you knew for years you wanted one this is all u wanted as a first gen introduction: i own e eye ipad size: mini, 11 with nanotexture, 13 - and the ipad 12 was my preferred one to use every day for the lightness and portability but i always dreamt for the nano to get an oled screen with higher refresh rate and i would have stopped using an iphone well, the duo is the answer to my dream of a good ipad mini but with the day to day use of a iphone. > the small display, perfect size now my max looks too long and it only better to write with e ough real estate over the duo, but the more rectangular aspect ratio won me over for being good and big enough > once the duo is open, i forget to close it back until i want to move away, unless im watching a video. >> videos from youtube are just amazing, whole screen, perfect t aspect ratio. >> safari pages are finally real desktop app, another quality of live upgrade i love about ipads that is finally on the phone in la escape mode anywhere and in portrait on many > apps, they are already getting updated as im writing, already 15 apps i use got a duo upgrade within the day, bullish on the format, but the small rectangle sucks for the ones still lagging so praying that every dev moves quickly. but thats why i wanted an apple foldable and not android: developers care and they understand the advantages in positioning themselves quicker than the competition > battery, it’s still optimizing as first restore so i know it’s not a benchmark, but all my magsafe batteries now are longer than the Duo so i probably have to buy new ones if i want to daily drive the duo at a conference the whole day cause it eats faster than the max for now > camera is ok, not the best, but we platoed long time ago and upgrading just for the camera a phone is becoming meaningless so im ok with the big upside of being able to take photos looking at myself. will only use the rear camera with duo display mode on and won’t touch the inner one > it’s light, and touch id is fine. took me some hours to fight the muscle memory but it will probably save me from having to to weird late night acrobatics to get authenticated while in bed so it has pros and cons. but truly fine > audio is fine, not ipad level but enough to make calls and watch movies on a big display while moving around. > novelty effect, a full go upgrade it for me. as an ipad fanboy that can rarely justify why i update my phone every year, this is the device i always wanted and my lifestyle is the one of someone that know how to benefit the hell out of this > utility 10/10 for a professional that uses his phone to monitor his main business, for someone like me trading at all time, it was a dream that one day we could trade from our palms but the experience was always subpar vs a full desktop environment where you could appreciate a chart much more. now the gap is filled, and your trading desk lives in your pocket, one iphone unfolding away. if you are a trader, a vibecoder, or anyone that wants to move their desktop setup to their pocket without having to carry an ipad with them, this is the device you have been waiting for

truly loving the direction certain accounts are taking into unveiling and sharing how the trenches are massively controlled and caballed by people with no other interest than extracting taking it as a personal mission too to try to save as many people as possible from falling into trenchers as identity crypto will be nothing without real defi, and i’m in this industry for the tech. i refute to believe that crypto doesn’t have a space for real believers, and if i will have to show the way to each individual new retail user coming i’ll single handandly do all i can to show them how defi can be beautiful without having to steal or crime your way to wealth unfortunately the high unemployment of og builders and the lack of many protocols being left to work for makes this even harder than before, but the more i look around the more its clear trenches have even lower opportunities for anyone to make it there i’d rather support a vibercoder kid trying to spin up their new idea than someone aiming to farm their followers

zuck with Muse’s labubu avatars proved yet again that, beyond serious product that are butthole shaped, having a cool mascotte can also win the hearth of people bring back the cute/cool mascottes in crypto

as long as wash trading or fake tvl is a KPI you can brag about you have nothing but deception and a product without market fit seen endless examples of numbers that didn’t reflect the real numbers once you apply a bunch of filters luckily we have better tools today, but you gotta research and not just trust the ui or the marketing tweets

one month ago I was arguing that the death of crypto happened due to the lack of projects launching a token and robinhood confirmed my vision more than ever. an example: I was at the monad foundry accelerator in march and while many projects looked promising and in search of a raise, non of them was even barely considering to launch a token. even if they runway was only of a few months. because their investors don't want that, and "revenues" is king (are the revenues in the room with us?). I bet that this applies to 99% of the projects looking for funding during the long bear. a few months after and there are project arguably with much shittier products on Robinhood launching at valuations beyond what these people were raising for, and earning from the trading off the token more revenues than these protocols would have made in the past 6 months. let me be clear, this si not about the chain, its about the approach projects should have in the market. I keep saying to any chain I work with, that your chain needs tokens, not only projects. yes, tokens will go down and they might be the end of a project, but without tokens 90% of the project in crypto don't have reasons to exist in crypto. also, tokens don't have to be memecoins, they can be utility tokens of course but riding new dynamic and cool ways to attract people to your token. a token is often a grift, I agree with you. but thats because of bad tokenomics or because people just gave up any hope of trying to do it right. if you are a project in crypto there are two ways to get noticed: > ship in the bear a cool project that generates revenues > ship a token that survives the short term and have your bag holders become your ambassador more utility tokens launched in creative ways with cool tokenomics is all I want, which means build your product around or alongside your token, not with the token as an afterthought just as an exit strategy
Replying to @francescoweb3
im a believer in the fact that crypto is in an identity crisis because of this exact belief and the problem is not about tokenomics but about the reason why blockchains exists if there is no need for a token and with the token to share the upside of the protocol adoption, then the blockchain might have not been needed from the start and only few cases apply to the contrary. crypto should be a parallel rail where their users get access to tokens of disruptive projects that dont exist in the traditional stocks market and that can offer unique shapes of use cases unlike the stinks what in saying is not that if a protocol has revenues they must have a worthless token. what in saying is that in crypto we forgot what it meant to be early believers of a project you love and use with the possibility of an upside in being right with your thesis. so, i do believe that everything with revenue should have a token that shares the revenue with the users in some unique shape or form, that is transparent, and not architected to fuck the users with locking or whatever

am I understanding it correctly, that a chain is trying to vampire another chain's success on a new memecoin vertical paired against real world assets, by having their employees share pics of their dogs?

sometimes I think we turned the industry into a forced forced clown show due to the industry's attitude towards defi tokens after they all launched their own chains > memecoins that are sending get listed faster than any real project > tokenized stocks are offered by 10 different providers > yet a defi token on a chain, especially if the chain is associated to an exchange, face the hardest chance possible to get listed, because all the KYB/AML needed + the allocation requirements to get listed memecoins generate quick bursts of fees from perpetuals + can be crimed easily (list a perp, short, sell, goodbye), and therefore are gucci, but defi tokens are about which chain it belongs and how much each venue/cahin/foundations wants to push yours vs my project death of defi comes first by chains pvping each other and lastly death by regulation pushing for making it easier to promote crap over real builders

payward moving from “the kraken company” to being the mother company of multiple verticals is one of the most interesting executions from a CEX-born company around here while all companies want to converge into doing things just for themselves, Payward shows flexibility in - wanting to become the n1 RWA providers on Solana (while they have ink chain) - pushing for hyperliquid in the US and to become a key rwa spot provider on hyperliquid too (while having their own kraken perps) interesting alignment to get market share and mindshare wins in the industry without having to force where it should happen truly a tentacle of a company

it all started with the celebrity coins then we tried the aibots with coins then the developers harassed to claim a coins then the fruit fly brains deploying their coins then the stocks having to offer a board seats to a coin in hindsight, among this whole list, tokenized stocks might have been the best thing that ever happened to crypto
