The family faces ongoing shortages of food, drinking water, medicine, and basic supplies, including diapers and milk for Laren and fresh food for the older girls. Their tent, exposed to strong coastal winds, has collapsed more than once, and the sound of the sea and flapping nylon often makes it difficult for the children to sleep. With no bathroom or hot water, Riham washes clothes in seawater and meals, when available, are cooked over firewood. Limited sanitation and medical care have contributed to skin rashes and other health problems among the children. Before the genocide, Jamil and Riham had stable work, a steady income, and a home where they were building a secure future for their family, but today they are focused on meeting their children’s daily needs while living in temporary shelter.

Since their displacement, the family has faced repeated shortages of food, medicine, and safe shelter while coping with harsh weather conditions, including cold, rain, and strong winds. Mossa has lost around 20 kilograms during this period, and his mother depends on blood pressure medication that is difficult to access consistently. Despite losing their home, belongings, and daily sense of stability, the family remains closely connected and continues trying to rebuild their lives. Mossa is seeking support to clear rubble, prepare basic shelter foundations, install essential services such as water and electricity, and secure necessities including food, medicine, and furniture, while holding onto hope for a more stable future together.
