Incredible news. My stained glass window in Bewleys will be donated to people of Dublin. Even better news is that Harry Clarke windows will be too. Thanks, Paddy! 😀

Great point made here by @mistereatgalway. So many local festivals deemed ineligible for grant funding because they don’t meet bed nights criteria. Time for a rethink. #mayo #localtourists #community #foodfest #sustainability @lovecastlebar
Speaking about gastronomic tourism @UNWTO @bculinary we need to remember that locals are tourists too. We are all tourists in our own town. We cannot continually look outward if we want to tourism more sustainable and more food focused.

So sad to hear @DeBurcaButcher in #Castlebar closed at the weekend, joining hundreds of other butchers who’ve closed in past 5-10 years. If we don’t use local shops we become completely reliant on our food supply from #supermarkets.
#cheapfood often more costly in the long run

We are very sad to announce that we will be closing our beautiful little shop this coming Saturday night. It's been a long hard road to this decision but it's a fate faced by many… instagram.com/p/BtOu8TwHZrk/…

Very sad to hear that @DeBurcaButcher traditional Butcher Shop in Castlebar, Co Mayo is closing.
Local food shops, by local producers, need local customer support, or this trend will continue...

One reason I keep arguing the principle that animal food production can be sustainable, high welfare, ecological is because it’s unfair to small ethical producers to brand them with the factory farming brush. We need these people for nutritious food from fertile soil

On Christmas Eve my father would tell us, ‘He’s on his way now, coming round Slieve Gallon, if you listen hard maybe you’ll hear the sleigh bells.’ I remember climbing the beech tree at the end of our lane, listening through the frosty air.
Thanks everyone (we really do have the best customers ❤).
And huge huge thanks to our small but perfectly formed team = Pete & Joanna xx
