Over the past year, I've been passionately working on addressing one of the biggest challenges facing open source: long-term sustainability. Both Web2 and Web3 continue to struggle with this issue. While Web3 offers unique advantages through access to capital, decentralized governance, and programmable funding mechanisms, it often lacks the institutional and operational structures needed to effectively support maintainers, security, community collaboration, emerging technologies like AI, and the actual costs of sustaining open source projects. Building on a pilot program in the Cardano ecosystem, along with lessons learned from other open source communities and industry initiatives, I've been developing a comprehensive approach that connects governance, operational maintenance, and economic sustainability into a cohesive model. This research is structured around three interconnected frameworks: The Who — Decentralized Open Source Program Office (dOSPO): How traditional Open Source Program Offices can evolve to coordinate governance, accountability, and open source stewardship within decentralized ecosystems. The What — Open Maintenance Framework (OMF): How to structure programs that address the real needs of open source projects, including maintainer support, contributor development, security, community collaboration, and infrastructure resilience, rather than simply throwing money at the problem. The How — Open Replenishment Framework (ORF): How to connect the economic value created by open source infrastructure back to the systems responsible for maintaining it, creating opportunities for recurring funding and long-term financial sustainability. I encourage everyone to explore the first two whitepapers, covering the Who and the What, which are already available. The final piece of the puzzle, the How, is undergoing its final round of review and edits and will be published soon. I've also been working with the @lfdecentralized to help establish a neutral home for this research through its Labs initiative, making these frameworks freely accessible for ecosystems to explore, adopt, test, and improve. Ultimately, the goal is to move beyond asking how we fund open source today and start building the systems that can sustain it tomorrow. I believe this challenge will only become more important as our collective dependence on open source, decentralized infrastructure, and AI continues to grow. JUST IN: 100,000 farm lands in India are now registered on the Cardano blockchain. This marks a milestone for 5am.earth’s agricultural trust layer, bringing farm data on-chain to support more verifiable, reusable records across the ecosystem.

I guess I'm pretentious to some, annoying to others, hated by a few; but to those who really know me, or those that I worked with or worked for, and or to those that have followed my outputs: Then You know I do this work with passion, and I genuinely don't try to elevate myself above my station, I sought out true masters of their craft and learned from them and was privileged to do so. I really care for this ecosystem, being Cardano, I left a cushy role to be in the weeds with the many and carve things from the ground up then be stuck in an ivory tower. I accomplished my goal at Intersect, IOG, and Voltaire, gave over something the community should run and left a foot in the door in the TSC to help propel things forward. I do consult and do work for free for on a few Cardano projects as they can attest to and hopefully they find it valuable, they're success is our success. And now I'm hoping to help with the commercial side. And yes, I joined Filecoin to support the missing pillar in many ecosystems and to attack the most centralized part of the world outside of banking, being data storage. This is where web3 will first be proven outside privacy domains and banking. So I am proud to be on this mission and advance it. I also am doing my best to support Midnight as time allows as well, but that has it's own force going on now and doesn't need much assistance. But I hope none of the entities here or leadership or community find me atrocious, just speaking out what I believe is needed and imploring for change or action as best as I can, I'm just a frog on a Lilypad floating in a big pond. Do know nothing I say has malice, just passion behind it 😅

I'm sorry if you are not using Claude, Grok, Chat, Gemini, and one OS AI Model co-currently and use them to quality check each other then..... Your outputs must be basic.....

At least put in on every chain, IPFS it at the minimum!
.@chainlink is proud to partner with @hedera, @Aptos, @AvaLabs, and @StellarOrg in urging the SEC to codify its digital commodity framework. Builders need lasting certainty. Codifying this progress would be a meaningful step toward keeping America the home of digital asset innovation. H/t @jackson_mueller for leading this effort 🫡

Been in the space for a bit and it’s good to see ecosystems mature and taking GTM, viable product solution building, and incentive structures serious, latest one of note below 👇 Read the full story here: filecoin.io/blog/Solstice-A-…

The Filecoin network's latest upgrade is complete! Now, a growing share of rewards will go to services that bring paying customers onto the network, and that share grows as paid demand grows.
