Has just woken up from a long deep slumber.
The existing weakness is too much to celebrate. Expecting a best case scenario of 15% from here.

Do You Know? #SUNFLAG
Paradeep Phosphates' Q2 FY26 presentation indicates Rock Phosphate prices at approximately US$200 per tonne (around ₹19,000 per tonne), broadly in line with my earlier estimates.
India imports approximately 90% of its Rock Phosphate requirements. In FY25, the country imported nearly 12 million tonnes.
Rock Phosphate is a critical imported raw material for the fertiliser industry. Longer procurement lead times, potentially arising from geopolitical uncertainties and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, could create a significant competitive advantage for Sunflag over the next 2–3 years.
The economics are particularly interesting:
Estimated import price: ~₹19,000 per tonne.
My estimated cost of production from domestic mines: ~₹3,000 per tonne.
The potential cost advantage is substantial, although actual mining costs and project economics will need to be assessed once operations commence.
Sunflag's Phosphorite Opportunity
As disclosed in Sunflag's FY26 Annual Report, the company has been allocated the Surajpura Phosphorite Block (Composite Licence), covering an area of 1,027.29 hectares in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, after emerging as the successful bidder.
This could be an interesting import-substitution opportunity, with the potential to contribute meaningfully to Sunflag's revenue and profitability over the coming years.
Where Does the Project Stand?
According to the Annual Report:
Letter of Intent (LOI) granted by the Director, Mineral Resources Department, Bhopal, on 13 February 2026.
Survey permissions/NOCs obtained from the concerned Forest Divisions.
Permission received from DFO, Sagar, on 30 April 2026.
Permission received from DFO, Chhatarpur, on 15 May 2026.
Field survey completed; the report is currently under preparation.
My assessment: If the necessary approvals and subsequent development activities progress as expected, the mine could potentially become operational over the next 2–3 years.
This is an opportunity worth tracking closely. A domestic source of Rock Phosphate could provide Sunflag with a strategic raw-material advantage while contributing to India's broader import-substitution objectives.

Do you still worship those “corrupt Congress leaders” who joined the BJP after 2014 and eventually became Chief Ministers, or did their sins magically disappear the moment they switched parties? 😂
Apparently, corruption depends on the party flag! 🚩

Why are some nations rich while others remain poor?
In Why Nations Fail, Daron and James argue that geography, culture, and natural resources are not the primary reasons.
The real difference lies in a country’s institutions and how power is distributed within society. (1/6)
Inclusive institutions promote equal opportunities, innovation, and prosperity. Extractive institutions concentrate power and wealth in the hands of a few, holding nations back.
