The quote from this article in full refers to "Taigs". ("'They have this visceral hatred of the Orange Order, thinking that we spend hours thinking, âhow can we annoy Taigs?â") It is clear you do not grasp the significance of this. Re the ROI, its vote for the GFA was massive.
Essential read for anyone wanting a United Ireland @MarkHennessy "Despite their talk, he does not believe the people in the Republic, in their hearts, want anything to do with either community in Northern Ireland, and they certainly do not want to pay for it.
In any event, they do not see a place for unionists in such a unified state, he believes: âOne of the things I took out of a trip to the DĂĄil years [ago] is that Irish history basically starts in 1916. Thereâs 700 years missing.
âYou canât peddle this line that Irish history starts in 1916, and if you donât buy into that then youâre not Irish. Iâm Irish. But Iâm British and an Ulsterman, and Orange.â irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/âŠ

Speaking to a Dublin crowd on the first night of his "Free Palestine Tour," Macklemore declared that those who seek to silence the call for Palestinian freedom are refusing to confront its fundamental premise: that freedom cannot coexist with oppression.

The authorâs views are obvious, but the narrative is balanced and takes us through each decade from the establishment of NI to the fall of Stormont and the failed Sunningdale initiative. Published in 1976, the factual details in each chapter are both fascinating and sobering.

Pengellyâs outrage is a desperate attempt to deflect from the nakedly sectarian & triumphalist Orange campaign in Portadown which her party supported, precipitating the fall out.
The DUP have, once again, taken unionism into a corner by failing to lead.

This comment is so silly. If it were you and not an aide who wrote it, it tells you everything you need to know about how preoccupied you are with the First Minister.
This tells you everything you need to know. Michelle OâNeill has a PSNI vehicle and could have driven into the police station, but chose to performatively walk in for the invited press. What a surprise. Fake, reckless and divisive behaviour once again.
People are sick of this behaviour.
Yet on important issues - not to be found. Tomorrow we have an opportunity and offer to meet with the Secretary of State and the Chief Secretary of the Treasury on budget and she has refused to attend that meeting.
This is not responsibility, that is recklessness and an abdication of her role.
