Photo of a majestic (and slightly demonic looking) Sika stag on the Furzebrook Estate nr The Blue Pool Wareham on the Isle of Purbeck. The Isle of Purbeck offers perhaps the greatest density of Sika in Europe. Beautiful to see but devastating for the woodlands and heath.

This is a shot taken at one of Dorset’s beauty spots ‘blue pool tea rooms’ great place to take the dog as plenty of woodland walks around the pool. They do a pretty mean cream-tea as well! 🤤🤤🤤 #Dorset #Wareham #lulworth #bluepooltearooms

Expecting a few 'doubting Thomas's' but...The Blue Pool, Furzebrook Estate. A brown mammal with a white throat descend from a tree. Larger than a cat, with the gait of a mustelid... could it be a rare Pine Marten, Isle of Purbeck! #springwatch #furzebrookestate #bluepooltearooms

Sika - The Blue Pool, Furzebrook Estate, Dorset. First introd. to Poole Harbour in 1895 at Hyde House Park, a small group the following year on Brownsea Island. The deer on Brownsea were seen swimming from the island to the mainland the same night! Thanks Dan Rushton Photography

Is this the new face of Wild-Boar in the UK? A Mangalica roaming free (well sort of) on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset. Thank you to Mike Howlett for the image.

A day with a deer stalker: on the trail of Scotland’s rutting stags

One of nature’s greatest events, the annual deer rut sees stags roar and fight in a bid to mate with as many hinds as possible. Seeing it up close is a primal thrill
