The Binance breach raises a much bigger question about the architecture of trust in crypto. Around $2.38B in assets linked to the incident was frozen by Tether and Circle. Bitcoin and native ETH operate under a fundamentally different model. There is no central issuer with the authority to freeze balances at protocol level. And I think this distinction deserves more attention. Recoverability and censorship resistance are often treated as competing priorities, but they represent two very different ideas of financial security. The ability to intervene can help contain a crisis. The absence of that intervention is precisely what gives decentralised networks their appeal. Crypto is still working out where it wants to sit between those two principles.

Pump.fun says its new Pump Bridge cut typical buy times from 3.88s to 1.95s and reduced buy errors from 11.2% to 0.9% in its in-app tests. FOMO has now rolled out its own bridge and router, claiming sub-second swaps. + Both platforms are bringing routing and execution in-house instead of relying entirely on third-party infrastructure. That means more control over speed and potentially trade quality. One caveat: these figures come from different testing setups, so they don’t establish a winner yet.

The next stablecoin war will be fought over who gets to keep the yield. Banks obviously want deposits to stay in savings accounts. Crypto platforms want those same dollars sitting in stablecoins, earning rewards inside their ecosystems. Coinbase has offered users up to 3.5% on USDC balances, while the reported average US savings rate sits at just 0.38%. If users can hold digital dollars, access crypto markets and earn rewards in one place, banks have a serious problem to think about. The incentive is obvious... especially in the UK.

🇬🇧 DeFi is all fun and games until the FCA starts asking who’s pulling the strings. The UK regulator is drawing a line around which DeFi services could fall under crypto regulation. Writing the code may be one thing. Running the platform, directing transactions or routing trades could be another. If a team can influence execution, route transactions or actively manage a service, how far can it rely on “we’re decentralised” as its defence? The harder question is whether regulation can distinguish genuine decentralisation from a centralised business wearing a DeFi label. The ultimate end is control. The consultation runs until November 18.

🔵 Circle wants to take USDC into 40 more emerging and developing markets. USDC circulation reached $73.3B in Q2, up 19% YoY. Circle is also expanding through a $400M Tazapay acquisition and a $100M strategic investment from Binance. The next stablecoin battle is distribution: who can make digital dollars genuinely useful across borders?

Dollar stablecoins dominate crypto. Europe wants a bigger seat at that table. This could give the euro a much stronger presence onchain.

. zcash:native has bounced from $1.1k, but the recovery is still on trial, love. The push towards $1.32k got rejected and we’re back around $1.24k. Meanwhile, Zcash’s NU7 upgrade is moving through testnet, with mainnet activation planned for November 5. Could give the market something to watch, but the chart needs to back it up. Lets see what effect the upgrade has on price.
