But…but…I heard somewhere that BU had no Americans on their team this year???😏
The 2026-27 BU Men's team has 6 nations represented, the most on a single team in program history #BUnitedNations

Today and every day, we remember Mark Lawrence Bavis.
Forever in our hearts.
In a nod to their prior two teams, this team needs to be called the Flashers!
BREAKING: In an email released to a nearby community, the development team behind The Gathering at South Forsyth revealed they have secured financing for an NHL team and submitted a final packet for approval.
Developers also revealed that the first phase of construction is underway as of September 1st, 2026. A local contractor will grade and level the site through January 31st, 2027. Construction on the arena and adjacent buildings will start once leveling of the site is complete and will take an estimated 27 months. The entire site will be phased out over 7-10 years.
Based on an estimated completion of May 1st, 2029, a team could potentially be ready to play in the 2029/30 season. One important thing of note here is that according to an MOU with Forsyth County, an arena could not be built in phase one without NHL approval. While it has not been confirmed by the league that a team is being awarded, this is the most concrete information we’ve seen thus far.
I’ve always found it odd that soccer with an average of 3-4 goals scored in a game combined, doesn’t play sudden death/golden goal but lacrosse, with maybe 30-35 goals per game, does.
While nobody is mentioning it, I think we are all aware of it - the instant elation of the puck hitting the twine was missing in the gold medal winning goal. TV viewers couldn’t see the puck and had to go off of the player celebration. Still awesome.
I truly don’t understand the booing on a single throw to first to hold the runner. Vince Coleman once drew 11 consecutive throws. I assume fans would start murdering each other at that point if it was still allowed in the game today.
Reminds me of this
Our history.
Our home.
Our green.

ALT Brayan Bello, Garrett Crochet, and Jarren Duran all stand together posing for a group portrait down the left field line at Fenway Park with the Green Monster in the background. All three wear the Red Sox City Connect uniforms with green jerseys the same shade as the Green Monster, reading “RED SOX” across the front in white with their respective numbers in yellow. Green hats display the Red Sox “B” logo in white, and pants are white with green piping detail downs the sides.
Best evaluation I have seen about this situation.
Two realities ...
1) Shedeur Sanders fell out of the first round because of talent and performance.
2) He's still available now because of everything else. At this point of the draft, teams are looking for depth and developmental players. If you're taken in the third round or fourth round or fifth round, you're going to be working in the background.
That would make Shedeur a backup quarterback. Backup QBs need to blend with in the furniture. It's why Tim Tebow and Colin Kaepernick, and even guys like Jay Cutler and Cam Newton had trouble extending their careers—if those guys weren't going to start for you, you'd probably rather just have the anonymous guy who'd support the starter and make ZERO headlines.
Backup quarterback is a different job than starting quarterback, which is why the NFL's collective two-deep isn't just a list of the 64 best QBs on the planet.
Can Shedeur be the developmental guy, who's going to be all-in on his team, and quietly go about his business? Maybe. But he's never had to do that, and the way his pre-draft process has been handled casts a lot of doubt on it.
So I don't know who stops his fall, but I think it'll have to be someone who can draw hard lines with him.
While I don’t love fighting in hockey, I am not against it in certain scenarios. But watching this fight (see video in replies) lead to a medical situation that postponed a game, at some point I think we’ll all wonder why this was ever ok.
The Western Hockey League announced this evening that WHL Regular Season Game #690 between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans has been suspended due to a medical emergency.
Tri-City Americans defenceman Terrell Goldsmith required medical attention 1:05 into the second period following an on-ice altercation. He was taken to hospital via ambulance, where he is alert and responsive and receiving medical attention.
Further updates on the condition of Goldsmith will be provided as they are available.
WHL Regular Season Game #690 between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans will be rescheduled at a later date.
Even the refs couldn’t save Notre Dame. They certainly tried with that horrible spot on the obvious first down for NIU.
You think Italians are happy when a Ferrari wins an F1 race at home? Quite a scene.
A great encapsulation of why this tragedy is hitting so hard. As always @Buccigross has the best words to capture how so many are feeling.
