A heartbreaking tragedy reportedly occurred in Ogwashi-Uku on Saturday, November 7, 2026, when a young boy driving a Lexus allegedly rammed into a commercial tricycle (keke) near a school gate.
The devastating crash reportedly claimed six lives, including that of a pregnant woman and other passengers inside the tricycle.

POLITICAL VIOLENCE IN ASABA: PEACEFUL CAMPAIGNERS ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED AT KONWEN PLAZA
Reports have emerged of an attack on members of the Obidient Movement who were peacefully campaigning ahead of the 2027 presidential election at Konwen Plaza, Asaba, Delta State.
According to accounts from the incident, masked young men allegedly arrived and attacked the campaigners. Members of the NDC Movement reportedly stood their ground and fought back.
Even more disturbing are allegations that some of the attackers confessed to being sponsored by individuals linked to the APC, allegedly receiving ₦10,000 each and 5kg of rice.
These allegations must be independently investigated and those responsible held accountable if established.
Democracy must accommodate dissent. Political disagreement is not a licence for violence.
No Nigerian should be attacked, intimidated or assaulted for peacefully expressing dissatisfaction with the government or supporting a political movement.
We call on the Nigeria Police Force and relevant authorities to investigate this incident and ensure that political activities remain peaceful and safe.
THE RIGHT TO PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY IS A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.
