We need a specific word to describe this general proliferation of little discounts, micro-benefits, carveouts, etc whereby our society is slowly losing the entire concept that everyone plays by the same rules.

In a new essay, the 22-year-old comedian and actor reflects on the way her dark thoughts about her own self-image are interpreted as “soulless edgelord fare” — and all the times she’s been canceled since she started posting her comedy online as a teen, including when children once decided en masse that she was a “whorish foil” to a famous friend of hers.
“As much as I wish for anonymity or a slate wipe sometimes, I am grateful for the perspective I’ve aggregated and the ways in which I have been challenged never to abandon my beliefs and my unbounding love for other people,” Wolk writes. “It cannot harden me, it cannot isolate me from community, and it cannot remove me from public life.”

You know, I was hoping that a sophisticated right wing dark horse candidate would emerge. Someone who could articulate our ideas for the mainstream and act as an anchor pulling the frontrunners to the right.
Looks like that's not going to happen.
It's going to be very interesting to see how Israel handles this. Pretending to be a democracy is less important to them (rightfully) than Jewish self-determination. Whatever playbook they deploy will be important to study.
My heart breaks for Brazil.
