My brother made $12,000 off his YouTube channel this month without any sponsorships, and I just set up a lesson with a pro surfer even though my kidney health is declining and I don't know how much longer I have. Why am I telling you this random information?
Because it was my brother who once told me, "You are going to FUCKING die one day." (Sorry for the cussing, but that's what he said.) He was saying that was his mindset behind why he took a risk and quit his job to grow his YouTube channel.
Even though he's my little brother, that's probably the best motivation I have ever heard in my life outside of the Bible. I am not saying we should all go travel the world, surf, and waste our money. What I am saying is that you will die one day. Our country might decline to dust, but you won't be alive to see it, because you will die. So you need to be taking action towards your goals or higher purpose.
When Joe Biden was president my other little brother joined the Green Berets, even though people were saying joining the Army during Biden was a risk. But he took action, and now he's living. He's doing things every day that would cost us thousands and thousands of dollars in guide fees, plane tickets, and ammo. He didn't sit at home. He took action.
So with all the people freaking out about another midterm election, why don't you turn off the news, focus on your family, focus on ways you can make a difference, and yes, focus on yourself. We don't know how much time we have left on this earth, but God does. Do not worry about today or tomorrow (Matthew 6:34), for this is the day the Lord has made (Psalm 118:24). You need to keep moving, and you need to take action for yourself, your family, and your community. Want to get involved with your church? Do it. Want to join the military? Do it. Want to learn a new hobby? Do it. You are useless scrolling X and sitting at home because today made you sad.
My favorite surf clip of all time. Parko, Creed McTaggart, Jai, Kian Martin, and Eithan Osborne. Enjoy.
I love themed bars. If you are in the Newport-Mesa area check out the latest project from @Pathfinder73. 2246 Newport Blvd and open until 11pm.
Speaking of Anaheim and eminent domain, I have a fun story about Orange County history. Did you know that the last orange grove in Anaheim is owned by an old man that still lives next to it and refuses to sell it to the city? The city of Anaheim has been trying to buy his orange grove on Santa Ana St for years to preserve it as part of their history, make it an interactive exhibit for kids about how the orange groves used to work, etc. Anaheim even wanted to partner with Disney if possible to make it happen. The city is worried about his kids selling it off to the highest bidder when he dies, and the history of his orange grove gone. He won't sell.
Why won't he sell? Because in the 1970s the city of Anaheim eminent domain'd his office building downtown and destroyed it in an attempt to beautify Anaheim. He now hates the city of Anaheim, even though that happened back in the 1970s. He still holds a grudge against them, and still holds the last orange grove in Anaheim. A fragile piece of Orange County's history on the edge because of a grudge match between an old man and the city.
I’ve seen it with one of my old friends, and I had to stop talking to him. Texting me nearly every day negative things about Trump and the Jews. The average person should not be following politics; they just can’t handle it. We have had Trump Derangement Syndrome from the left since 2015, and now we have Trump Derangement Syndrome on the right. People gleefully wishing for Trump’s downfall and the death of all Jews. Some people might just need to get off the internet altogether.
As we draw closer and closer to Election Day, I'm noticing people become increasingly more possessed, like demons. Normally respectable people are losing their composure and their dignity because they can't handle the stress.
Jesus has the wheel, folks. Get comfortable with uncertainty. Trust me, you can handle whatever comes next. Just vote your principles, destroy commies til your last dying breath, and we'll see what happens. You're not in control, nobody has a magic bullet, and you can't tweet your way into Paradise.
You will adapt and overcome whatever happens. I promise.
I’m sitting here watching a documentary about Westside Oahu. Obviously I wouldn’t live in west Oahu, but I think part of the reason I’ve been daydreaming about Hawaii in general is that they have a solid, original culture they protect. How many western places in the world still have that? Switzerland? Poland?
We’ve largely lost our original California culture except in the nicest areas and NorCal (real NorCal, not Bay Area). I would rather live hated somewhere in the jungle than live in an open Walmart society hated by foreigners that are speaking Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Arabic while I am paying for their kids’ education through property taxes. I would much rather be paying for poor, Hawaiian kids’ education because they were there first.
California is still livable and I love it, but if this open slop society continues it will eventually be gone. And no, I don’t want to live in Tennessee or Idaho with pick me Malinois moms and Black Rifle Coffee dads. End of rant.
Found some vintage Orange County Halloween photos. Here’s one from 1953 in Anaheim’s historic Colony District (downtown), which I’ve heard is one of the last areas of Orange County that is still crowded with kids trick or treating.
