🚨🇬🇧 The far-right in the UK is struggling to understand what racial slurs are, so here’s a handy guide.
Test 1: Was it ever the name of a violent racist pastime? Brit: no. Aussie: no. P-word: "P-word-bashing" was a named, recognised activity in 1970s–80s Britain. Ask whether anyone ever went Aussie-bashing.
Test 2: Do they call themselves that? Australians say "Aussie" about themselves, proudly. Brits say "Brit." Ask how many Pakistanis put "P-word" on their shopfront.
Test 3: Is it even accurate? The word was never really an abbreviation. It was shouted at Bangladeshis, Indians, Sri Lankans, anyone brown. An abbreviation that doesn't care which country you're from isn't an abbreviation. It's a description of skin.
I hope this helps our far-right friends understand how to avoid getting arrested in the UK.

its actually quite refreshing to have a PM whose embarrassing history involves raising money for charity, rather than burning £50 notes in front of homeless people and shagging pigs...

More pupils in the UK and Ukraine are set to benefit from reading for pleasure!
Earlier this year, we launched our UK-Ukraine schools partnership programme, which focuses on the importance of reading.
Now with a further £50,000 of government funding, 30 additional schools across the two countries are joining the initiative – standing with Ukraine and boosting reading skills through our Plan for Change.
