Stunned at the number of comments, not understanding the word “minimum” for the time skip.
5 year minimum time skip. Skyrim takes place in 4E 201, the new quote from the moth priest is 206.
Theoretically, every essential NPC in Skyrim has a chance of appearing in Sentinel, or even the “cannon” Dragonborn (I doubt we see them but potentially) Jarl Balgruf showing up would be cool.
Also the dragon threat may not be totally squashed. It’s not like dragons returning was isolated to Skyrim. Good chance we see some more dragons in 6.
So close to the rebellion in Skyrim, I’m going to take a guess that the second war broke out before the civil war was “solved” and through some means, be it player hand or other circumstances, Ulfric is dead.
I am relieved that we didn’t see another 200 year jump like we did from oblivion to Skyrim. I’d like to see the threads left by the events of Skyrim solved.
Also to speculate on what the quote could mean at the end:
"The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate."
Could this victory that is undone be a future where the empire wins? And the thalmor want to use the scrolls to undo that victory? Or vice versa, the Thalmor won, and we players are going to try and use the scrolls to undo that victory.
Talking about meddling with outcomes like this, could another dragonbreak be on the table?
Again, just getting teased. I’m sure we are a while out from release. Maybe we get more info next week on 11.11.26?
Glad we got some more info, but man I really want to see what they have been cooking. This video has the same energy as the initial announcement. Hopefully not 8 more years till the next one.
What do you guys think?
Jeremy soul was incredible. I can never say I felt the same way with any tracks in fallout 4. New Vegas main theme was a banger. (Ik the fallout ones are all iterative but the new Vegas one I legitimately think is the best)
Starfield main theme was pretty good tho imo. That orchestral swell is memorable.
Do you remember how you felt when you first heard Skyrim's main theme? #BGS40

ALT The main title tracks of our games play such an important role in setting the tone for the game. At one of our monthly team meetings during Skyrim’s development, we got to hear the final cut of the main title track. The lights were dimmed in the theater, and the volume was cranked up. As we sat there, listening to the track, the hairs on my arms stood up and remained that way through the entire song. After hearing it, I knew this was something special and memorable that would stand the test of time. Just this past year, one of my daughters chose this track as her walk-up song for softball, and it was such a great moment the two of us shared.

Today we're sharing with you all the name of the next Elder Scrolls title (did you guess correctly?).
The writing isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. I love good world building and lore, but the magic I felt for Skyrim wasn’t from the books on the shelves. My love for the lore has only grown out of my nostalgia for the game.
In my opinion the biggest issue they have is speed.
The company was around 100 people back in Skyrim. They are a team of 400+ now.
Not saying a larger studio can’t make great games, but part of their design strategy (BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION) is having a single man look over and approve every part of the game that isn’t “part of the Bethesda Norm”
The last 2 major releases from Bethesda were totally new territory. An online style fallout game, and a totally new IP. Not to mention the fallout tv show. All diffrent teams, working on different projects, outside of the cookie cutter they grew on, that Todd has to personally touch.
Finished building a new magic system for fire and ice combos? Todd can look over it in 3 weeks. And if he doesn’t approve it, make the changes and wait 3 more weeks. A very slow process, that explains why these games take so long.
Due to their glacial release windows, they are also slow to make adjustments to player feedback. If you thought the settlement building in fallout 4 needed some fundamental improvements, you had to wait till starfield to see those improvements. 8 years. (That’s not fair actually, they did make changes in fallout 76 to settlements so maybe not a great example but you get the idea)
In my opinion, each franchise should just have a team of 150 max. Skyrim, fallout, and “other” all being worked on in step with each other. But what do I know, I’m just malding out online over a company that hasn’t delivered a product I wanted since 2015.
If only there were some type of “Bible” the employees could follow for decision making in the game. Some kind of manuscript to help them make decisions without leadership. A document of design to refer back to…
My issue with modern Bethesda isn't that they've somehow regressed beyond recognition or forgot how to implement compelling game designs. I don't really think either of those are true.
The problem is they've coasted.
Imagine if after making The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red decided to make basically the same game two more times but dumb down just a couple more features each time, and that's basically all they do worth mentioning for the next 15 years. That's the situation we're talking about. Their "keep it simple stupid" philosophy of writing which their lead designer and writer has championed might literally kill them.
Bethesda sat on their laurels, and now they're in a position where the sequel to their most popular game ever is doomed to disappoint people AGAIN simply because the wait has been far too long and expectations have ballooned beyond reason. It's insane to see a giant of the industry fall like this.
Timeline prediction from someone who has lost all hope:
- 11.11.26 - elder scrolls six announced again, late 2027 release date
- Mid 2027 - game delayed a year, fallout 3 remake releases (it has all the same issues oblivion remastered does)
- game releases November 2028, it’s okay. Maybe a 6/10.
- Xbox can’t justify the cost of company. Huge layoffs. Huge studio shrink. Todd retires.
- fallout 5 is fast tracked. Releases 2032. Preforms worse than TES:6.
- Xbox shuts down the studio, rather than selling it so they hold onto the IP.
- late 2030s are full of Bethesda spin off games. Some good like an elder scrolls RTS, some survival, some whatever flavor of the generation is like battle royals.
- Xbox keeps churning these out till their downfall.

Been watching this channel since 2021 and now all of a sudden YouTube wants to take them down..?
They have millions of subs why are you suddenly pivoting 😭 what the fuck is going on
Elder scrolls six: featuring all your favorite lore mysteries explained -
- elder scrolls? Oh they are just skin fragments of the upper case G God.
- The Dwemer? Oh they were sleeping on a moon for a while.
- Sithis? Oh actually just another regular primordial being, nothing special about him really. Always been around. He’s just subtle that’s all. Hence the assassin cult.
- the towers? What towers? What are you even talking about? We threw that thread out back in 2009.
- The godhead? Oh yeah that’s just a guy named bill, he ate too many mushrooms and has been taking a nap on his buddy’s futon. Dreamed up this whole reality.
Oh by the way, in fallout 5 we’re gonna tell you who exactly fired the nukes first (spoiler alert, it wasn’t the Chinese)
News about elder scrolls 6
Story will be about the mystery of scrolls themselves. 😩 they aren’t meant to be understood. The entire plot device around elder scrolls is beyond the meta, similar to the god head.
It’s midichlorians all over again.

Conspiracy theory: they make this game as bloated as possible so that you would be less inclined to play literally anything else due to time investment with the download as well as lack of space for anything else.
